Sorry if this has been covered before but i haven't been on the politics board before. What do the Americans think of him? Do you even know much about him? Do you even care? :D

I think most Americans really like the guy in that he has been a constant ally of the United States regardless of much else. We appreciate his loyalty. We think he is 10X the statesman as our President. He seems like an inspirational leader. That all being said, there are those who disagree with the war on Iraq and lump Bush in with Blair as both misguided, wrong, misleading, etc. for obvious reasons. So it really depends on where you comd down on the war.

He's a fine dude in my opinion. Another vote for the better statesman than President Bush. Verybdog, do you have that order correct of who the lapdog is LOL?

I would have to say that I do care, but don't know much about him. He will get news coverage here in the states, but it's limited and overshadowed (or blackened out) by the real important items like Michael Jackson or Paris "I'm a ho and not really that good looking" Hilton.

The left doesn't like Blair more because he "betrayed socialisim".

Best to just lurk in this forum, l'est you stick around to be cleverly ridiculed with arcane references by the resident freethinkers...

Lap dog and Poodle are terms well used over here for Blair. He is losing socialist supporters over here. The Scottish Sociallist Party is on the rise in Scotland as well.

Thanks for the replies so far, it's good to hear opinions without the filter of the media! Keep them coming

Let's see...; Howard Dean, Bush, or Tony Blair. I'll take Blair. It's also a bit painful to watch Bush and Blair have one of those news conferences. Bush with the eloquence of an anvil, and Blair, well, you know...

Tony Blair is actually willing to take unscripted questions. He is also willing to answer these questions without being simplistic or condescending. I don't know it may be just me but I found my concerns about the war in Iraq to be better addressed during the House of Commons Questions session by Prime Minister Blair than in any of the interviews by Bush or his cabinent before the war. Also how can you hate a leader who actually is willing to take on the problem of addiction with new ideas instead of new commercials.

Tony Blair recently wanted to recraft his image to appeal to younger voters. Seeing the success of Jennifer Lopez's abbreviated "J-Lo", Tony wanted to do something similar. But his publicist was slightly dislexic and now the British Prime Minister is known as "B-Liar".

Yeah, i did realise that. I was just stating that it's not only the Americans that call him these things, the Brits do too. Just for anyone who didn't know this.
