The thing about strikers is they are streaky!!!!!!...it's good to have back up

He's 28 - not a spring chicken by any means, and I'm not convinced he'll keep this up beyond the current campaign. He doesn't have a very consistent track record throughout his career. Plus he would be very, very expensive - I'm guessing in the €10m range. That's money best spent elsewhere.

If Barca wanted to buy an Italian striker, they should go for Graziani Pelle of Lecce. He's only 19 and was the star of their U-20 team this summer. He's also similar in stature, athleticism and skill to Toni, though he's not yet the finisher.

Bottom line, though, is that there's no reason for Barca to buy any strikers at the moment.

28, no thank you, if he was cheap then we should consider it but lets face it, its not like Fiorentina is in huge debt and needs as much money as they can get, so thanks better spent else where is right

Pelle is a very good player. I was hoping Chelsea would get him.

Why would you think that? He's leading Serie A in scoring, is an integral part of the Italian national team, plays for a club that isn't desperate for cash (and has great ambitions), and is under contract for 3 1/2 more years. If he's available for anything less than €15million, it's a scandal.

Money best spent elsewhere, if at all.

Why? He is one of the hottest Italian players and plays for an up-and-coming team, who is bound for the Champions League, and has a famous past.

Toni is not going to come till After the WC. If Italy advances far in the 'World's Summer Classic'. Especially if he becomes the 2006 Miroslav Klose then we can forget about it.

Tony would be ideal for Barca. A long, strong, goal scoring machine behind Eto'o. His age do not matter. We only need him 2 /3 years.
Remember Romario when he came to Barca, he too was 28, i believe.

Yes if he is going to come and accept the role of a super sub then we welcome him and hoping that he keeps up his scoring form. I still want us to utilize Maxi and we haven`t got the best of Santi yet. May be we will see this in the second half of the season.

Maxi has great potential we need to use him especially with the loss of Eto`o to national duty.

I know what you are saying, but even comparing his age to Romario is wrong.
