Its funny - Tommy is constantly wrong but I still love him. And no, its not just his accent - I just think he genuinly likes what he's doing and the people he does it for. Plus, I got a picture with him on the pitch and Lansdowne Rd - fantastic guy.

To me, Tommy is soccer's John Madden - talks a lot, not much of it educational, lots of it loud, some of it just plain wrong, but almost always fun for some reason...probably his passion for the sport.

And his Derby picks on Kornheiser last week were ***************. Serves me right for betting on his tip.

All credit to Tommy on Tuesday: When Real scored and he started decrying the "passive offside" interpretation, I thought he was going to be riding that pony hard for the rest of the match. Thankfully, he said his piece and let it go, whereas at times he's been known to gripe about a "bad" call (in his judgment) for a long, long time. And I'm glad Dangerhere gives him credit for that line about Robert Carlos as a defender: "that's his address, but you'll never find him at home..."

For the record, Jack was featured in Dangerhere last summer. They were especially fond of all the ladder climbing he saw.

Concur. He has a passion for it which shines through.

The article is funny - and some of it's spot on as they say - but a lot of it was silly and took things out of context.

    Just my .02.

I also agree with Dr. Wankler. I too was worried Tommy was going to go on and on about the non-call, but he dropped it for the last 1/3 of the match, letting us enjoy the rest of the game in peace.

This guy sucks. He denegrades US soccer at every possible opportunity. Before the World Cup he said the US should not even concern themselves with Portugal because they had zero chance of getting a result and to just focus on the next two games instead. What an assshole!

Yeah - what an ********************* he was for not predicting the 3 goal first half thrashing against one of the most talented teams in the tournament. Come on, everyone else was. (???)
