but I did write "in less than an year" rather than in a season! which I also wonder why Gustavson can't bring more stability over Tyreso(which in term wouldn't make him such a good contender for the US NT job) as the player turnovers are way too many
Intersting quote from Rampone Jeff Kassouf @JeffKassouf 40s Rampone played for Sermanni at NY Power. "My heart def. hurt seeing him leave, but it's the WC. We need to be heading in right direction."
It means that when it comes to design the opinion of the tradesmen is more important than the opinion of the architect. Sick of hearing it all lumped on Semannai.
It means nothing to me. It could means she supported the decision to fire Sermanni because they needed to go in a new direction OR it could mean if USSoccer feels the teams needed to go in a new direction then she understands the move. The question Id love to get a straight answer on from Wambach, Solo and Rampone, who r the senior leaders, is did Gulati discuss replacing the coach with u? I dont even care what they said if they dont want to say. I just wanna know how far this investigation went.
Well, it means she doesn't want to blackballed by the fed. A player would have to be insane to say ANYTHING in public about this. These women have worked for the fed for a long time, I'm sure they're not surprised by fed politics interfering with the WNT squad and understand that they work for people who will destroy them for miniscule political gain in the short-term.
I think Rampone would be tough to blackball at this point in her career all tho I do agree with ur point.
They had the full quote on Equalizer I dont get the time thing. Sermanni was there for 15 months and had an additional 15 months or thought he did. If the players bought in 100% I have a hard time believing that wasnt enough time. If the players didnt buy in then no amount of time was enough.
If she wants to coach the mnational team she will need a body of work she built up over time....a decade or more. Unless we treat our USSF directors like a South American country, the current folks will be retired or dead by then.
That's very naive. How can she build up a body of work over the objection of the fed? A quiet word from someone and she come's in 2nd for most of the jobs she'd need to start on that "body of work."
http://www.phillysoccernews.com/us/wnt.php?article_id=11593 them is a nice typo. Short note, worth reading in full - Paul Riley is the featured speaker. His timeline is "over the few weeks."
The fed controls four coaching jobs. You can build a body of work in the college and pro ranks without holding one of those jobs. Randy Waldrum won National championships before he was ever a fed coach.
Fed controls a staff of about 20? coaches w/ various NT staffs, can nix any ODP coach, and their good graces are 100% necessary to work at any pro team and many high level club jobs. If you don't think the fed has control over the pro game, remind me about how those ASA games went after '99...
So... Abby became MagicJack coach because the fed wanted it that way? I submit their control is less than complete.
Certain, very powerful veteran players didn't buy into the way Sermanni was setting the team up to play. The pass and move, quick technical football advocated by TS didn't suit some of the veterans in the squad...with one in particular standing out.
It's so perfect, though. You slander the whole team without naming anyone so each reader can decide the offending player(s). Then everyone can nod knowingly, each person with their own list.
