US finally has a spell of possession. US midfield need to offer more defensive support on flanks until game gets more settled.
Naeher is doing work. Just because Sweden is proving to be the challenge that we knew they would be doesn't mean we're playing terribly. We're just making mistakes that we don't need to be making (Sweden forcing us into some), and it's going to cost us. EDIT: And there it is...Sweden's up 1-0.
I feel like we almost needed that goal against to have a chance to get going. Maybe Sweden drops off a bit now and the US is a little more motivated to get forward.
I missed the first minutes of the game, but I've got the impression that Sweden are pushing USA out of the park and that their current advantage is sure deserved. Nice header by Blackstenius for the 1-0.
Or not. Sweden going for # 2. Dunn with another well-timed challenge in the box, which has me nervous.
It's always awkward when play continues on for 15 or 20 seconds, but in that case there really was a continuous attack.
Hydration break stat: Last time the US trailed in a game: the April game against Sweden. Let's reset and come back out with more urgency.
