It is well to remember that there are at least three channels carrying Women's Olympic Soccer. They are: USA, NBCsn and The Olympic channel. The Olympic channel has on tonight China vs. Brazil and Japan vs. Canada. I believe there are a number of women's soccer matches each day soccer is played on all three channels.
Just a reminder for those asking: ALL matches will be streamed on both nbcolympics.com and NBC Sports app.
I created a new account for sling and they are doing a 10 dollars the first month for newbies. Sling blue contains both USA and NBCSN and other channels.
Now that McSkillz is squared away the last piece of the puzzle is in place. LET'S FRICKIN GOPacing and chain smoking has commenced.
Dang it...........WAKE UP We're 2 1/2 hours out so if you're thinking about squeezing in the Canada Semi from 2012 (and I know that you are) before Sweden........you better start it pretty soon.
I am interested to see who is on the 18-player game roster. I am interested particularly on whether Julie Ertz is on it, which will tell us whether she truly is able to play or not. And, if she is not on it, I will be interested to see who fills her spot.
I'm guessing they'll wait until New Zealand to start playing her, easing her back in. But that doesn't mean I'm sanguine about this whole business of expecting players to come off the disabled list and perform as we're accustomed to. I don't likes it and I started a thread to try to reverse-jinx the situation (tee-hee!)
Well Olympic soccer has begun. Great Britten kicked of exactly as scheduled at 03:30 AM EDT. As a warning to those that tend to join matches 5 or 10 mins late to avoid the opening rigamarole it appears that the kickoffs will be exactly at the listed start time. Of course it could be that a little delay will be added to the start for matches involving the US but I would not count on it. My hips have flared up and I am going to need to take my pain meds soon and after that I will not be posting, I am sure to the great joy of many, because the pain meds make it hard to maintain train of thought and the act of watching and posting makes it harder to enjoy the match so I will be watching and enjoying as much as possible. One thing I have noticed is that the NBC app seems to display scores on some of their screens but I am using my Spectrum feed so I should be able to avoid that for now. We will see if that is true for on demand content as it is impossible the watch all matches live because there are at least three matches overlapping on most match days because all groups are playing on the same days. That balances rest times but does cause some problems for those of us that want to watch as much as possible. But at least the tournament is underway and looks interesting although the "international" feed seems to leave a bit to be desired on the GB vs Chlie match. but it is better that what was produced for the Copa America.
Interesting; we're sticking with the original 18 for the game day roster. I hope we see some rotation later even if there's no injury.
It's more of interest that Heath is in over Rapinoe to me, but none of it is a surprise. We're going with our A lineup (other than Ertz still being out) for the most difficult group match.
