Anyone else see the Rumor section of today's Fiver email from the Guardian?

Freddie for Schevchenko, and Vieira for Figo & 8 million pounds?

I'm not sure how I feel about either of those...

That's subtraction by addition. When you have a guy like Pires, do you need Figo? Plus, you'd be losing Vieira so I don't see how you gain much with that one.

Shevchenko is intriguing, but Freddie seems to be a bit magical. How many big goals has that guy scored? It seems his goals either open the scoring, tie the game or put us ahead. It's not like he scores the 3rd goal in a 4-0 victory.

I tend to agree with you Rick. As long a Super Bob gets back to his old ways, we don't need Figo. As for Schevchenko, while I too find the idea an intriguing one, the cost of Ljungberg is too high for what Freddie brings to this team.

I wouldn't take either of those trades, but it is pretty cool that PV is worth 8m more than a former "player-of-the-year."

FL is invaluable as far as I'm concerned. Rick is right about his goals, and his assists have been just as important. As a Milan fan I'm a Sheva fan, but I wouldn't trade one of our midfielders for him. Where would he fit in? Who would be left behind?

The same problem exists with the PV-LF trade. Pires is a lock on the left, Gio is getting back in shape and Edu and Ash could play there as well.

Damn, Arsenal must be a strong team if Sheva and Figo are unwanted!

Ive never heard Dein or Wenger going for these kinds of deals so Id say they are more Fromthe Terrace than anything.
