We also missed 2 pk's on 08/23/17, although in 2004 it hurt more since it knocked us out of the playoffs! I will never forget that weak pk shot from Sanneh.
Good morning, watch this 12 years ago today...A #Crew96 match for the ages. pic.twitter.com/Z6yQRwoVO1— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) November 13, 2020
Today is the 25th anniversary of the last home game of the 1995 Cleveland Browns season. While it was unspeakably painful for Cleveland fans, a certain law was created...and the rest was history.
It's two years too few. Yet at times, it already seems like more. Thank you Jimmy! (And Dee and Dr. Pete and many more.)
Reminds me--we were doing some cleaning our of a room in our house over the weekedn. Found an old appointment card--for Dr. Peter Edwards Jr. (I'd jammed a knee back in the day--tripped up while rounding the last defender and came down with the keg locked). I'm keeping that.
https://onthisdaycrew96.home.blog/2001-mls-superdraft/ We drafted Edson Buddle and some forward from Cal State-Fullerton. Kids, grab a cold one and let @Bill Archer tell you all about McKinley Tennyson.
Clairvoyants gonna clairvoyant. He's also saying: "If you think I look thrilled to be standing here, remember the name Danny Szetela."
it was me. i think it was a German team and well, it worked.....we scored on that corner kick, soooooo......
In an alternate universe somewhere, Kirk Urso might today be celebrating his birthday in Europe, following his transfer to one of the great European clubs for several million dollars. After all, that's what happens when you're the MVP of MLS Cup 2015, upon scoring four goals and finishing with the Golden Boot for the second consecutive year. He'd be 31. Unfortunately, we have to live in this universe and he is Forever Massive.
March 7, 2020, we tied Seattle 1-1. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/columbus-crew-seattle-sounders.2109149/ March 14, 2020, we were scheduled for a game against RSL. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/rsl-columbus-crew.2109274/
Surprised I'm not in that picture. At least I can't obviously see myself. I was there, I know that much, and I am pretty sure I was in my usual seat in 107 row 13, seat 1.
On this day in 2008, @Nordecke was born. pic.twitter.com/5ds0XOaQfe— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) March 29, 2021 Fun memory. Thinking, oh Adam Moffat scores.. then Gaven to Moreno. Gee I remember that game. What a day. What a team. What a coach. Fans stepped up.
