With the likelihood that Campbell misses 3 of the remaining 5 matches and the news today that Viera could be done for the year, what do you guys (the diehard Arsenal fans) think of your chances of holding on to the title? Over here -- https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44475 -- yesterday, I said that I thought Arsenal would prevail. Basically, yesterday, I was saying that I felt that Arsenal would win out. The biggest remaining test is going to be this weekend at Middlesbrough. They've been pretty strong at home all season. You've got Leeds & Southampton remaining at home with further road games at Bolton and Sunderland. So even if ManU also wins full points, having games at the likes of Bolton and Sunderland are likely to let you hold onto your goal differential lead. Then I read this article today http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=264332&cc=5901 If you are missing both Viera and Campbell for these games, that's not the greatest news. Missing Viera for all those games is just going to expose whoever is replacing Campbell even more. So, what do you think?
What do we think? Here's what I think: It's a tough spot no doubt. Vieira isn't out for the season most likely about two weeks. Meaning that he misses both the 'Boro and Bolton games and that's all. Now if Sol's suspension is upheld that means that his suspension starts after those games so that's good news in that we won't be missing both Sol and Paddy at the same time. It's a situation that's not ideal but it could be worse and Arsenal are well capable of overcoming these difficulties.
