Let's hope that story is one last championship! :D

It's good to finally know that this is official. Hopefully she'll get in a few more points before this all over.

    Over here!
Not a surprise, but still dissappointing for those of us who enjoy seeing her play. She's been talking about it for a few years, so though I'm sad to see her retire, I'm glad to know she's finally at a place where she knows she can walk away from pro soccer and be happy.

    *tear* Beautifully said, Soro! :)
It's good that she announced this early on, giving the coaching staff extra time to kind of 'plan' for next year and giving us fans the chance to enjoy her last games. It's been a great career, but we still have lots of season to go!!

    hey-

although it's sad to finally "know" for sure, i too am not surprised that this will be tish's last year.

she's done an awful lot for the team, the sport and for women's sports, and i do hope she goes out at the top.

but i am sure we'll definitely hear from her in her future endevours!!

I think it's great that she's getting out while she's still on top, rather than trying to milk her contract for all it's worth. Despite her reduced minutes so far this season, her absence will leave a big hole in the CyberRays team next year. Luckily, the Rays will have some salary cap wiggle room with Tisha's salary off the books.

A class act in every regard. She will be missed.

Maybe a few more founding players will follow her lead.

Tish has always been one of the most level-headed, responsible women in sports. Her example is not to be overlooked despite its modesty and silent ways.

Her presence at Nickerson was felt yesterday, and I only regret, as has been posted on the technical side in the [R] of the game thread, that Ian didn't put her in earlier.

Call me crazy..call me selfish..call me subjective.. but I'd think you'd put Tish in for at least a half in each game- barring injury, poor play, etc.- for all of the remaining games. Sort of a farewell tour. Let the fans see her, witness her heading brilliance, her subtle but deft ability, and so on. Let fans appreciate the greatness and brilliance of Tisha Venturini-Hoch one more time.

And.. as was not stated.. her graciousness and humor..and awareness of the different environments was much in awareness yesterday... she's a class act. The SJ organization is loosing a great one.... and yes.. I've already searched for "cheap" flights out to SJ for the final home game. Boston has a knack of playing the right teams at the right time..... now if only the airlines can accomodate and bring the prices down...

    Tish- thank you. :)
