I had arthroscopy on my knee 4 weeks ago (torn meniscus) and I just started jogging about a week ago. I'm not 100% recovered yet (seem to still have some scar tissue that's preventing full motion) but I would like to recover to be able to play in about 2 weeks. Any suggestions? I've also been doing a stationary bike and swimming and, of course, knee exercises. Just wondering what else I could do not just to get the knee to 100% but also to quickly become match fit.
dude just take it easy, let it heal and dont over do it or you will be back getting cut open again. I need to have the same thing done but I am trying to hold off till winter becaue i dont really mind missing indoor that much. Really though I know how bad it sucks to sit out but dont push it it will only ************ you up in the long run
well, if you had the surgery 4 weeks ago and you have been going to physical therapy 3 times a week, and doing the exercises that your therapist perscribed to you twice a day then you should be almost fully recovered...but if you have not been doing that, then do it, it is the only way you are going to get better... i had a torn meniscus early this summer. had arthroscopy in late june and was back on the field playing in late july. it took me about another month until i was feeling *normal* on the field again, playing without any worries or thoughts about the knee. just do what the doctor/therapist says and dont do anything more than what they tell you to do, if you listen to the experts and follow their instructions you will be back in due time...
