Haven't seen anything yet, so here's the latest from Mssrs. Connolly and Palace. Lots of love for Jeff's list from earlier in the week. And, if you're really bored, from me, where I don't mention the Toolbox even once. Later, COZ
THE WEEKLY TCS RANKINGS: 1) MetroStars 2) San Jose 3) New England 4) Columbus 5) Kansas City 6) Chicago 7) Los Angeles 8) Dallas (9) 9) DC United 10) Colorado How on earth is LA (5 GF, 10 GA, 4 Pts) ahead of Dallas (8 GF, 11 GA, 6 Pts) & DC (6 GF, 9 GA, 4 Pts). They've got a better GD than Colorado but lost to them head to head. LA deserves to be no higher than 8 in the league. Sure, they've had a long road trip, and that might count for something if theyd' won a single game. I just don't agree with ranking a winless team above two teams that have managed to score more than their opponents at least once. Remember the Hex from last season? Has anyone hit a three game winning streak yet?
Wow. After posting that I went to check. I knew they were relatively hot, but my god, when's the last time someone had a five game winning streak?
4 of those wins were against winless teams (2 Rapids, 1 United, 1 Burn). They might be the best in the league, but basically they've tied LA, gone 1-1-1 vs the Crew, and feasted on the weak. If they keep it up for the next 6 or 7 games (while Pope's out) I'll be a little more impressed.
Either he transcribed it wrong, or something's fishy in Texas: They're Miller Lite girls, for chrissakes!
We've got DC and Colorado coming up. I just hope they're not "due" for a win when we play them, although luckily Colorado just beat LA...
