The English Premier League champion announced Friday that it will have a news conference with coach Alex Ferguson in New York on Tuesday with Champions World LLC, the promoter of its U.S. tour last summer. While the subject wasn't announced, two U.S.-based soccer officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the news conference was to announce another U.S. tour. Manchester United spokesman Paddy Harverson declined comment. It was not yet clear if potential opponents will be announced at the news conference, the officials said. Manchester United, which has a marketing partnership with YankeeNets, played four games on this year's tour, its first games in the United States since 1982. The tour: A 4-0 win over Glasgow Celtic in Seattle, a 3-1 victory over Club America in Los Angeles, a 4-1 rout of Juventus at East Rutherford, New Jersey, and a 3-1 victory over FC Barcelona at Philadelphia. All but the game in Los Angeles sold out. Defending champion Manchester United is third in the Premier League, two points behind league-leading Arsenal
'Tis a temporary thing. Timmy and the boys will be in action tomorrow morning on FSW against Liverpool. Looking forward to seeing the noose tighten on Houlier.
