I think Robert Enke would be more handy.

It looks like Neuer will get called up for the next two friendlies.

What happened to Lehmann? The guy was a maestro at the WC and played pretty damn well in the Euro qualifiers last year. His Arsenal form is spreading to his Germany performances.

Lehmann is becoming a liability, and we need a keeper who is playing regular first-team football, so Neuer and Enke are really the only reasonable options at this point. I predict Rensing will become our first-choice keeper once he becomes a regular starter for FC Bayern. He's a fantastic player and I feel is the natural heir to the throne.

Where did you read that? I'd be glad if he would...

    :)

PS: Rensing is a wuss. He'll never make it into the German NT. Especially not if Adler and Neuer keep up the good work.

    Thanks!

Well, since Lehmann got injured on Wednesday he may as well go with Hilde and Neuer. Hard to tell...

Should Löw really risk playing Hildebrand -- who by then won't have played in a competitive match for about four months -- against Wales if Lehmann is unavailable?

I think Löw could definitively do worse than giving Enke a chance and I'm not sure if he could do better.

I totally agree with you but I don't think that Löw will prefer Enke over Hilde in this situation. Sadly...

I don't know, he looked pretty good to me.

The only time where he looked a bit weird was when Owen missed the empty net from close range, but even then it was more of a mistake by the defenders than one from Lehmann.

Apart from that, he made all the saves in his usual calm manner. No dropped ball or anything like that.

If Rensing ever wants to be Germany's no.1, he has to stop to act like Kahn when he comes out of the net. Both bend their backs and are half on the ground before the opponent has moved. Every player who is somewhat adept in handling the ball can get past them or shoot over them.

Lehmann still plays first team football. He missed Saturdays match to injury. As of now, he is the most experienced and best option for us in the net.

Have you ever actually seen him play? Except for 1 or 2 times i haven't because he never plays. Neuer, Adler and Wiese are much closer to the National team.

Agree Lehmann has made class saves in the friendly against England and contributed to the victory
His only mistake was on Owen
He'll find his form after his injury I suppose
I never trust Hildebrand between the sticks I think he is a bit overrated but behind Lehmann, he's the only one with international experience
I hope Low will give a chance again to Enke and for the first time Neur who is very talented in the next friendlies not too sure for the qualifiers

I would have Enke or Neuer play as the number 1 in the euros, Enke of Neuer (which ever one doesnt make it as the number 1) and hildeband as the number three.
Manuel Neuer is probably my favorite out of all the goalies but he hasnt even played a full season. I would let him finish this season so he can get better and have more experience with schalke and the u21 team and if hes still as good or better I would want him as my number one. Just have to wait till next year.

Haha it seems like Jogi looks rediculous in every picture of him. Feel bad for Lehmann, but he had a great WM but now his time is up.

Well, Enke is ok, but I vote for Neuer. I hope he will be our #1 in 2010 (since I believe that Löw will not oust Lehmann in 2008).

I hope Schalke survives some games in the CL so that Neuer will get some more experience.

Lehmann has said that 2008 will be his last season, so I don't think we need to worry about Loew dropping him.

He never said that. He said he could decide like that in one minutes and like this one minute later. He doesn't know himself but I think it is likely it will be his last season. As long as he doesn't pick up a serious injury Loew will surely not drop him. He may be a bit insecure at the moment but he still makes these curcial save, his contribution and intervention for crosses and corners is top notch (with the national team because they don't allow attacking the goalkeeper in international football) and alongside van der Sar you won't find any goalkeeper on this planet who is more likely to win you a pso. Noone in his right mind would pick Buffon or Cech fover vdS or Lehmann for a pso.
He just need to sort his confidence issues out.

Mate, you keep on telling nonsense. He said he could imagine (!) - not that he will - being part of the wc 2010, be it as a player or as no 3 just to motivate the youngsters. This is kind of annoying considering that you linked to a German article that a lot of forum members here can't understand.

Sorry +Gooner+ I only skimmed the article. I would have linked an English article if there was one.
