Just tuned in, 35th minute, still scoreless. Howard starts in goal as usual. Everton have been pressing the last 5 minutes and look more likely to score right now.
500mm pounds to buy liverpool or say 350mm for Everton + Moyes on a 10 year contract + 150mm in funds available? I know where I would put my money. Everton so smart as a team.
Howard is kicking long for Frolaini to head on to Jelavic, Pienaaar or Osman. Very compact in the back when ManU in possession. They are pushing Fro up the pitch more and he is dangerous in the box and in possession. Baines with a late free kick that was curling towards the post but DeGea with a leaping right handed save.
Osman off the bar, then Wellback is almost in on Tim but a Jagielka tackle saves him. Nice play all around.
1-0 Everton after Fellaini sends a THUNDEROUS header past de Gea after climbing over Carrick. Unstoppable.
There it is. eta: I'd like another look at where the ball was relative the the guy that was supposed to be on the post...
The Fro is the best player on the pitch tonight. From the first whistle. This match might make Fergie and Scholes rethink the ManU midfield.
Jagielka with a monster save off the line after Tim comes out sliding at the top of the 6 but cant win the ball. Fantastic clearance.
Rooney is checking back to midfield, leaving Wellbeck and Kagawa to play up top more. Cleverly with a shot, knocked off the line. RVP on the pitch. ManU starting to press the pace. Here is where the horses start to run hard. Don't know how I feel about Rooney dropping back, but with RVP up top. it is not bad.
Fro is now playing striker like a DM. My suggestion is they pull him back to midfield and go to 4-5-1. Put in a work horse at striker who can run.
I hate to say this, but this match needs a chicharito... just the tiniest type of player sliding between the defenders for a tap in.
Everton's season turned around last year when Fro was moved up the pitch and Evans added, plus Neville has been parked in the middle of the pitch as well.
FT: 1-0, big way to start the season for Everton. Tim didn't have much to do from what I saw but he kept his defense well organized.
