http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,27-707431,00.html Interesting article on MLS, the Man United Tour & the growth of young talent in the States. I don't know if you regularly post links from overseas papers but I thought it was interesting & probably more realistic on the popularity of soccer in the US than most articles that I see here in the UK
i think it was a pretty fair article. it gives a lot of respect to the us team as well as the mls, which proves that some people over here do respect the team and league. i didnt know the howard deal was done and would go through on july 1st. i also saw an english guy yesterday with an old us mnt jersey on that had the old us soccer logo on it.
My goodness. This guy is entirely too sensible. I'd say I'm surprised that he's English, but frankly, I'm more surprised that he's a journalist.
Your employer made another appearance in Media Watch today. Though in fairness, it was for an AP story. Still, is this some sort of guerrilla marketing effort by USA Today?
I did exchange e-mail with them recently, and I've noticed we've popped up a bit more since then. That's actually not an AP story. They're a fun group, but if they really want to make fun of U.S. players for having names like Taylor Twellman, I'm going to have to devote an entire column to Nicky Butt.
They actually mentioned Project 2010 - and what the name means - without any snide comments (parenthetical or otherwise). What gives?
That's a very interesting article. I wish Gazidis wouldn't help the Brits, though by letting them know what errors they may be making.
