Well it happened again today a perfectly good goal by Bayern Munich was called back due to another poor judgement by a junior assistant referee. Thankfully, it was not a decision that impacted the match since Bayern comfortably went on to a 2-0 victory. In the USA at the MLS level, there are weekly conference calls held during the season with all officials to discuss the major issues or problems encountered in the weeks action. Does anyone know if the Bundesliga or the German Football Association hold similar meetings. This clearly has become an issue this season. There was some very good asssistance from the fourth official during todays match at Cottbus home ground.
A goal, are you sure? They whistled one situation wrong, in which Bayern had a perfect chance, but the shot was saved anyway. At least the German channel that had about a fifteen minutes coverage of the game, did not show a cancelled goal IIRC. There were other bad calls today though: - Nürnberg's pk was nothing - Hannover had to get a pk - Gladbach had to get a pk - 1860 got a perfect goal anulled
Olaf,my apologies, yes it was saved by Lenz. I focused so much on the poor decision I failed to note that Lenz saved it.
