It's looking increasingly unlikely he's coming to O.T in fact he's talking about Real and their players all the time. Beckham's gone and if Real offer Gaucho a contract he's going there as well without a doubt. Is this going to be a nightmare summer? MAn Utd are just going to be left with the leftovers that Real don't want. And i'm sorry but getting up and comers instead of the true big boys out there just will not win you the CL. The players of the highest repute flock to play at Real. I'm getting more disappointed by the day.. I think we're going to have some sub par signings to O.T this Summer instead of the stellar players needed.
I can't see why Ronaldinho would want to go to Real now - where would he play? I say he won't be going to Real now and, in that case, with all the cash Man Utd have from Beckham, Man Utd will buy him...
One thing you must never, ever, ever forget... Never count Real Madrid out on ANYBODY. If they want Ronaldinho, they will get him.
I wonder if part of the deal for Beckham was that Real would let Man U 'have' Ronaldinho ?? These two clubs seem to have alot of secret business going on that the public don't know about. Valdano said that this deal 'strengthens the bond between us and Manchester' wtf does that mean..lol Barcelona are going to be pi$$ed and i bet you they ome in for R'Gaucho big time now partly to spite Man U and also because they need a new talisman to go for... This transfer is not as clean-cut as I first thought it was..there's definitely more to those 'conditions of payment' then we know. It's going to be a ridiculous tranfser period. Fergie HAS to get some elite players in so there is going to be a frenzy of activity very soon.
to spite man u? man u agreed to let them discuss terms with Beckham. to spite real would be more appropriate.
I wouldn't say that. Ronaldinho is nothing but a bonus to Real..they don't really need him at all and his 'loss' wouldn't even merit a shurg of the shoulders. Barcelona can't hurt Real in any way with capturing R' Man Utd could be seen as the treachorous party in the Beckham affair..using Beckham as pawn knowing full well he wasn't going to go to Barca and also to keep Real off signing R' themselves. If Barca suspect any of that then they'd have a rightful reason to spite Man U. Transfer Chess sucks.
100% opposite. it is now reaching it's most dramatic point. Beckham was 90% likely to go..Fergie made it clear with his behaviour last season towards Beckham..point is, now they have Beckham will they ease off of Ronaldinho or try collect him as well..or has a deal been agreed between the clubs that Real will now not pursue Ronaldinho. It's all going to be concluded within a week 2 weeks at most.
now i dont want ronaldinhio at ot at all, he keeps 'dropping' real madrid hints and as mentioned always talks about real madrid and their players, if he did come to ot his committment will be how good??? sign someone else i'd say. someone better.
Barcelona will now focus their attentions towards Manchester United target Ronaldinho after losing the race to sign David Beckham. Beckham is set to move to Barca's arch rivals Real Madrid after United and Real agreed a £25m deal. Barca press officer Juanjo Castillo said: "It is no secret that Ronaldinho is one of the players we are looking at. A deal is very close" ^^It's begun already. I wonder if the board has forseen all this or if they're just stupid, headless chickens hoping to land their man or what. Who knows what's going on in the murky underbelly of the transfer market lol.
I *very* rarely tout players or their merits but once in a while something special comes along. And Ronaldinho is the real deal. He will explode onto the club scene within the next 2years and then everyone will be talking about him. Right now people are unsure because of the club he plays for currently saying he's unproven in a big league. But he will have the same impact Ronaldo had back in the mid 90's when he left PSV for Barca..SO the fact is getting someone better than R.Gaucho isn't going to happen unless Zizou fancies a transfer to O.T That's why sigining him is so important IMO. He's a big time player and he#'ll perform on the CL stage with ease. If Fergie wants that hallowed trophy he needs Ronaldinho in his team IMO. All the other supreme number 10's are locked in contracts at good clubs. And realistically there isn't another Ronaldinho out there to go and buy if this one falls thru. I think that if he does eventually get to O.T he will perform, so much to prove. Every player in the world knows the importance and value of the CL and he would not play in that with half a heart.
Just like they had Beckham. If they take that step, there are multiple clubs that can out bid them, us included.
I agree totally with Dark Savante. We need Ronaldinho. He is going to be nasty. He's the next big thing. F everyone else out there right now. The only person that will even come close to making up for Becks leaving is Gaucho. And if we don't get him, if we get some other puddwackers, Kenyon and SAF failed miserably in my opinion.
When it comes to the ability to pay for him there's just been a 50 million pound swing from Real to Utd.
All the noise that has been coming from Ronaldinho recently about Madrid is simply to goad Manchester into giving him more money. A publicity stunt. A brazilian player like him would not want to sit on the bench half the time (as he most likely would in Madrid) when he could be starting. People really shouldn't get so worked up over all this crap. I agree he would be huge for Manchester. If machester can get him and Quaresma plus a top grade keeper i would be happy (although Kewell or Duff would be a plus). Perhaps Morientes now that Madrid is getting more stacked?
More money,,,I thought United are still in talks with PSG..9million has nothing to do with how much Ronaldinho gets paid. Until PSG accept the 9 million offer, Ronaldinho won't have a clue how much United will pay "HIM" for hes services.
Newcastle bidding for Ronaldinho. Newcastle are set to hold talks with Brazilian ace Ronaldinho, despite the Paris St Germain star looking destined to sign for Manchester United or Barcelona. The Magpies ambitious chairman Freddy Shepherd is said to be meeting with Ronaldinho's advisors later today. Ronaldinho hinted yesterday that he'd prefer a move to Spain, although specifically Real Madrid, which doesn't appear possible following David Beckham's move to the Bernabeu last night. United have been tipped to use the Beckham cash to sign the World Cup winner, while Barca's new president Joan Laporta is understood to have turned his attentions to the 23-year-old after missing out on Becks. Shepherd is believed to be prepared to offer Ronaldinho a five-year contract worth £40,000 to lure him to St James' Park.
True, all the spanish media talks about retaliation, however its kinda embarrassing since he's what Real or ManU didnt want to sign
not exactly how it works mate. United have held talks with PSG as well as Ronaldinho and his agent. The player is NOT in the dark as to what is happening. They are not the pawns their agents would make them out to be in the press. Most likely a fee has already been offered, and now it just down to negotiations. negotiations: Where the clubs initial offer is met with scorn and disbelief by the player's agent, and mysterious reports that all these other clubs are interested in the player begin to hit the press.... Have you never wondered why the "sources" for all those stories are never identified?
i think this is going to go down to what Gaucho values more. Money or Glory. If he goes to Barca he is going to get a MASSIVE amount of money. Laporta is acting like a desperado and with some clever manipulation Gaucho's bro/agent can suck a massive amount of them for his bro. If he goes to Man Utd he will not be at the top of their wage structure until he proves himself there and that'd either mean winning/contributing(massively) them the CL in his first season and thus making himself indespenisble or it'll take him 2years to work his way up to the sums that Keane can command. But at united he will be pushed completely into the World spotlight and has the chance at the kind of glory reserved for his more illustrious Brazil teamates such as Ronaldo and R Carlos. I'm sure he knows this.. and from the reports i've heard about Ronaldinho he values glory and being in the spotlight for his ego more then the lure of the $$$. Also Champions League football is such a major thing to players these days. Everyone knows that this is where the elite play and you alway hear players who aren't in it wanting to go to clubs that are. For that reason i believe Ronnie will go to a team that can offer him CL football. It still all goes back to what lures him the most..the crazy money Laporta would throw his way or the chance for glory and to be part of a team so dedicated to attack as Man Utd are. I'm sure most attackers would want to go to a team like Real, Arsenal, Man Utd and their ilk because it means they get more and more chances to shine. I bet Ronnie is aware that if he went to Man Utd he would be seen as as much of a talisman as he would be at Barca - one wants him to revive their clubs fortunes in La Liga the other would pin alo of theiir hopes of winning the CL on him - At Real he would be on the lowest rung of the ladder and probably even benched for half the season - that won't happen at either Barca or Man U. All these things i believe are taken into consideration by both the player and his agent/bro. I'm very interested to see where he goes. I don't think any other team but Man Utd and Barca are going to land him either No Italian team and not Newcastle although if Aresnal had the money i bet he'd choose them over both Barca and Man U cos he has friends that play there.. Ronnies agent said that Gaucho wont reveal his chosen destination until 29th of june. LoL Can you imagine Ferguson having to play such hardball with 'some kid' . Most players would jump at the chance of a move to Man Utd but Gaucho truly has enough talent to stall Man Utd!!! Another 10 days of this bs and hype to go...
MASSIVE probably is a word better used to describe Barca's debt. You could also use that word to describe Barca's MASSIVE failure to produce a challenge in the SPL... Perhaps one would want to use the word MASSIVE when describing a Barca supporter's dissapointment that the team will not be competeing in this year's Champions league. But to use the word MASSIVE when describing the money availble to pay for Ronaldinho is a bit of hubris for me.
I wouldn't count out Madrid here. What they want, they usually get. I don't think that Gaucho would go to Madrid with their currently congested midfiled, though. What worries me is that Madrid will try to get rid of Figo, who I think is past his prime, so they can land Gaucho.
Laporta doesn't care about debt. his first agenda is fan appeasement. Debts are secondary. He's clutching at straws already and is DESPERATE to get some 'names' into the club.. debt is a total non-issue.
