I remember Axelrod had a discussion with Rove where Rove seriously believed that the Congress would do some things on immigration because there are bipartisan aspects to it where you can get 60 votes But of course things don't work that way anymore. Congress is just for messaging so you can grift!
Paraphrasing the Climate change cartoon, "Yeah, thousands of lives were lost for a mythological god-given right, but for the last decade we have experienced record profits!" https://www.thetrace.org/2022/05/gun-industry-profits-mass-shooting-covid/
This is not about Fkn doors. It’s about Fkn GUNS. Doors are the “Lets gaslight these libs on a different subject!!!”
Well sure, at the end of the day, the gun supporters have two options. 1. Admit that guns are the issue, and pass some laws restricting the ability of certain groups (mentally ill, under 21, untrained, unlicensed) from easily and quickly getting guns (licensing, training, registration) 2. Admit that guns are the issue, and spend a lot of time and money making schools small bunkers with metal detectors, armed guards, a moat with sharks with lasers on their heads, and armed teachers. Maybe they could have a bake sale to pay for all this Well that was easy.
Hold on a second here. Are you honestly saying doors don't kill people, but guns do? That's some crazy thinking there!
I think you're being a bit harsh. A "Thin Blue Line" bumper sticker is quite useful if you're smuggling children and you don't want to get pulled over.
"Well, with all thith wokeneth, the minimum wage got raithed to an unthupportable level! He probably made enough money to buy the gunth himthelf.."
Texas law enforcement is facing heavy criticism for its response to the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde.A DPS official explains why police waited to confront the school shooter.https://t.co/rLFNEv8Y6Q— Chron (@chron) May 27, 2022 Uh, nobody said being a cop wasn't dangerous. Asked what his plan is to keep schools safe, Kevin McCarthy says schools should be able to repurpose Covid funds to reduce doors. #DoorControl pic.twitter.com/ygI3ozq8Ol— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) May 27, 2022 So the GOP solution is to make school buildings far less safe for kids. Sounds about right.
The Repubs don't have to worry. Since their constiuency believes everything is a threat, you don't have to put much effort into scaring them.
