This is a weird story to be honest. The person arrested was being a troll and reposting what someone else had said in reference to the Charlie Kirk murder. The meme isn't really a direct threat in particular, or an indirect threat TBH. Also, the article doesn't say where it was posted. If it was posted on the school's FB page then, it would warrant a 2nd look. But if it was on the person's FB personal page, then he is just being antagonistic. Even the Sheriff admits the meme does not actually contain any threats.

Apparently in or near engineering building

At least 20 victims were reportedly injured near Barus and Holley and Macmillan Hall in an active shooter incident, according to a Providence Fire radio broadcast. A 5:27 p.m. update from the Department of Public Safety reported shots fired near Governor Street. At that time, DPS reported that law enforcement was responding at the scene.

There are currently no suspects in custody, according to a 5:10 p.m. alert from DPS. A suspect was allegedly in custody at 4:50 p.m, according to an earlier alert from DPS.

Video footage obtained by The Herald showed several police officers on campus as well as several emergency vehicles on the surrounding roads. Additional footage depicted police appearing to assist several individuals lying on the ground near the Sciences Library...

...Katie Sun ’28 was studying in the Engineering Research Center lobby when she heard gunshots around 4:10 p.m. She evacuated the building, leaving behind all her belongings, and ran to her dorm for safety.

“It was honestly quite terrifying. The shots seemed like they were coming from … where the classrooms are,” she said.

DPS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
