If he was a high quality politician, who had morals and stood by them, he'd understand that you don't send remorse out when Goebbels gets shot. You celebrate it. You point out the ironies and hypocrisy of his life and death and motivate the base to push back against not just the regime, but the ideals this person stood up for. To arrive for a better world.

Telling everyone to cool it while the other side sends military (and military armed officers) to perform an ethnic cleansing isn't going to do anything.
