I vote for Sam Cronin :) All kidding aside he does seem to have natural leadership qualities, but is a little young.

I usually take any prognostications on who would/would not make a good caption with a grain of salt. It's difficult to determine who would be the best choice for a new captain unless you have in-depth knowledge of the players, their personalities, who they have respect for, etc. As an outsider, you pretty much have to base the choice on the player's experience level, talent level, and what you know of their personality from the media. It's only part of the story.

For all we know, Nick Garcia might be able to lead this team better than anyone. Or Ibby. Or Gerba. The only thing we do know as outsiders is that they don't seem to be getting enough leadership from Brennan.

I think that you're basically right, but I still think that we can get a pretty decent sense on the team dynamic to form a somewhat informed opinion.

That said, I think Jimmy's time is indeed up and that DeRo is next in line (or possibly JDG but I'm not entirely sure of that) with succession planning for Cronin to step up when DeRo retires in 5 years or so.

If Serioux was a great defender than I would be more than happy to have him as a caption....unfortunately, he is not:eek:

Luckily, no one gives a crap what you think! :p

If not Brennan, then definetly DeRo.

Ok, let's stick to discussing players as captain and leave the bickering out of it.

Atta Kora. He might relish this role and stick around a few more years.

To me nevermind the captaincy, Brennan shouldn't even be a starter on TFC. I love him for being the first captain in franchise history and for his contribution, especially as a Torontonian, but he's a weak link for us going into 2010 tactically & technically and I wouldn't be surprised if Preki was bright enough to realize this as well.

I don't see Brennan lasting long with us tbh. He'd be better off retiring and getting a job with us in the front office.
