Mods, I think we need a new thread. This was originally based around rumors and trials. Plus there are many pages of content that is best served for the archives.

Unfortunately, I am at a loss for creative names:

The Wander'n is over: Tim Ream at Bolton.

That is pretty terrible, it's like a pun that's not really a pun.

Feel like that's been done with Holden already.

Good luck to Tim. He will need it, I will be astonished if he does well in the EPL.

Note neither Boca nor Gooch succeeded at CB in that league.....

And have the WP restrictions been relaxed or does Klinsi really have pull? Because a few years ago, I can't imagine either Ream nor Rogers getting one.

I think Convey was much more accomplished when he had to wait a year.

They've been relaxed. Someone brought up the 20 year old Nigerian with zero caps.

Love these comments by Coyle because it sounds like he gets the American player and that often they aren't the finished product the way other countries players are at that age.

Really hope Ream is like Eli Manning and shows he deserves a lot more credit for being a very good player than he gets - Ream has a similar unflappable demeanor and sometimes an Eli face when things go poorly. But the guy is incredibly fit and while he's going to make mistakes - it sounds like his coach knows what he's in for.

I deleted a few posts related to Klinnsman/Bradley agenda and Ream's wife. Neither of which is relevant to the scope of this forum.

Agree we are due for a new thread, so someone please do the honors and link to it here so we can close this one down.

Agreed. Another reason Coyle probably likes Americans is because our players seem to always be up for the "fight", which is what Bolton is in right now. American athletes, in all sports really, seem to have some psychological thing where we play better as underdogs. The whole "You don't think I can do this? Watch me" thing. Dempsey is a prime example of it.

Lack of prima donna attitudes have got to be appealing as well. Especially for guys like Ream and Dempsey who who weren't involved with Bradenton and weren't told they were god's gift to soccer their entire childhood. Owen Coyle always seems like such a good dude, Ream definitely has the potential to do well, hopefully he'll get the job done.
