So I was reading the following. Look beyond the marquee names, and there is more food for thought. A growing number of American teenagers are joining foreign clubs -- and the clubs are welcoming them with open arms. Guys like Mainz striker Jared Jeffrey, West Ham striker Sebastian Lleget and Hoffenheim's Joseph-Claude Gyau and Charles Renken have all forgone the conventional college path in hopes of developing in the European club system. Plus, there's a large contingent of American-born kids with Mexican clubs, including upwards of a dozen youngsters at Tigres UANL alone. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/greg_lalas/02/01/american.player/index.html I was wondering if the part that is in bold is verifiable.
They have a thread in the US Forum about those kids... https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1307178
Nice find Naquisima. I dont venture that way often. http://texasfutgol.blogspot.com/2010/02/junior-de-fc-dallas-firma-por-tigres.html nice recap by a young prospect.
Too bad most of those kids won't be given a shot by Tigres. Not to troll but its probably one of the worst managed clubs in the league.
Story regarding Tigres scouting in Chicago. http://chicagopublicradio.org/Content.aspx?audioID=43111 cool. They report they have 15 us born players in Tigres Soccer Academy.
