Man, I just realized that the color battle will mirror LA's other big rivalry - Bloods versus Crips. When I taught high school in Compton, it was so intense that those loyal to Crips would only chew Wintergreen gum for its blue wrapper. The Bloods, of course, chewed Big Red. In any case, quakies, be careful of where you wear your blue in L.A. In the places you'll probably visit, there won't be any prob, but now might not be the best time to visit Watts Towers, for instance.
Most of the larger hotels in the LA area have shuttles to LAX. Especially ones that close to LAX. Just call the toll free number for the hotel in question and ask for info on where to catch it and when and if it's free, etc..
ridesharing page at clubquake.org I've had a couple of inquiries for ridesharing. So, if you need a ride, or if you have a ride to give, feel free to post here: http://www.clubquake.org/cq/?q=node/view/203
Anyone need tickets to the Gala Awards Show? I have four that I won't be able to use. They're general admission, so no seat assignments. Tickets say "black tie optional" but who knows if anyone's really gonna dress all fancy. PM me if you want them, and leave your address. First response gets 'em mailed out in the morning.
Bill what section are you guys going to be in? I'm still debating making the one day road trip on Sunday! Pichi
The MTA strike is over....yay. BTW, if anyone has any L.A. questions (especially Hollywood) let me know, since I live rather close to there.
Any lingering unrealistic hopes of me catching a red-eye from Melbourne to LAX have officially been dashed. Got my hours for work at the Ballarat Courier's sub-editors desk for the next fortnight, and I'm working this Sunday night (which is Saturday there). Bugger. Going to have to watch it on TV at home, Monday morning, live, on ESPN International, 7:30 a.m. my time here. As always, think of me as there in spirit...
I'm with you there William. My wife and I had almost got to the point of justifying the cost of the flight from NC, leaving early Sunday and getting the red-eye back East over night Sunday...I had arranged someone to take care of her sick grandma and our animals...I was gonna book it all this morning..when wallop we got hit by an unexpected event last night that will cost the money I'd possibly earmarked for the flight!!! BUT WE BELIEVE!!! We'll be there in Spirit..... Go England !!! GO QUAKES!!! -Richard
Cool, the Kodak theature is niiiicce. But how much are the tickets for the GAME? No that you mention it though, how far is the kodak theatre from the stadium? TRANSFORM MARI
The Kodak Theatre is 20-30 minutes away. In LA speak that means it will take you about an hour to an hour and a half. Especially going into LA on the 405 on a Saturday night. You might be better off staying closer to LA if you want to go to those events. And then just making the commute to Carson on Sunday for the game. Why didn't I think of that until now? Oh well.
One more thing.... It DOES NOT say in the policies that we can not hang signs. It does say they may not obstruct sponsor signs. But no where does it say we can't HANG them. Or am I just missing something?
All I know is, people were told to remove banners that they hung last time. If you intend to hand anything, make sure to print out the stadium guidelines and bring them with you. That way, if anyone gives you crap, you can ask them where it is in the guidelines.
The Will-Call window will be open from 10-6 on Saturday if you don't want to battle the lines on Sunday.
