Just a thought about expansion: OKC is having a season ticket pledge, that exceeds some mls teams(7500). Its the best way to see how a city is into the game, and possibly the future success of the new expansion club. your thoughts?
First off I believe that the season ticket goal is 6,000, secondly, I find it interesting that they would set this requirement when the most season ticket sales MLS has ever seen is this year with the KC Wizards and a little more than 4,000 tix sold. I'm not saying we couldn't do it, but it does seem a bit excessive.
we can always set our sights and standards high, then go low, but not otherway around. But i wouldn't worry to much, they only sold under 3k tix so far, they won't make it.
There's a month before the game and a major advertising campaign starting on the 8th. Thus far there as been absolutly no advertising. Look for the numbers to jump exponentially. I also don't forsee a problem with selling 6,000 season tickets. It's interesting that the number appearantly set for Tulsa was 7,500 I believe. Thanks for the info about the Crew selling 9,000. For some reason I thought that this year was a record breaking year in season ticket sales at 4,000.
