For every game this season I have bought my ticket at RFK the day of the game. A couple of weeks ago I saw DC United Vouchers on Ebay so I bought them cause they were slightly cheaper. My question is it says on the front of the ticket "Must redeem through mail 5 days prior to the event. See reverse for details." On the back of this thing it says "Mail to..................OR Bring to DC United WILL CALL Window Day of Game." Can I use these yellow vouchers and exchange them for tickets tomorrow or do I have to mail them and use them for the next game? Thanks
I'm not familiar with the these vouchers, but my guess is that you can exchange them for tickets at the stadium tomorrow. The "OR Bring to DC United WILL CALL Window Day of Game" that you mention seems to indicate this. What I would do is bring them to the game and try to exchange them. If for some reason they tell you that you have to MAIL them in, then pay cash for tickets tomorrow, and then mail in those vouchers on Tuesday for tickets to the NEXT home game! Maybe someone knows what these vouchers are? (maybe flex vouchers?)
I bought some flex plans for some of my employees the last few seasons. I thought(and I might be wrong) that you could pick and choose your game, but not exchange for more than the value of the ticket. A flex voucher should get you in to any game with out any red tape, Seating might be up to United. If you have doubts, contact DC United. www.dcunited.com Bottom Line.....there's plenty of seats, get there early, have a brewski and enjoy.
Flex plan vouchers I have the flex plan. You can redeem them the day of the game and you choose from what seats are available. The whole 5 day thing allows you to ask for certain seats according to your plan if they are available they will give you those seats, if not they send you the closest seats to your choice.
Re: Flex plan vouchers Thanks for the tip I'm sure it's appreciated! Also thanks for coming to DC games...hopefully you make some besides the 2 times we play Chicago each year.
Additionally 5 days gives them time to receive it in the mail. If you mailed it 2 days before the game they may not get it. You can go to will call.
Ticketing Flex plans Thank you all for helping to assist Mr. DCU9ted . . . The 5 day notice is to both help in fulfilling requested locations and to get tickets back in the mail to you in a timely fashion thus eliminating the need to stand in a Will Call or Exchange line. The Exchange window is available every game, but as pointed out, you only have what's available at that window to choose from. It does allow for last minute decisions to use the vouchers however. The best part of the voucher or flex plan program is the savings of service charges normally incurred through TicketMaster when purchasing individual games, and the availability of youth pricing (under 16 yrs.) that is not available if you choose to purchase through TicketMaster or at the Stadium on day of game. Additionally, DCU9ted, if you made it to every game,or even just 8 or 9 of them, I would seriously look into a half or full season ticket for the 2003 season. You will get your choice of seating, savings over and above day of game pricing, cool looking tickets, guaranteed premium items, exchange policy, and priority to all other soccer events at RFK to name just some of the benefits . . . Thanks for your and everyone else's support of D.C. United and Major League Soccer for this season . . . bring some friends and make lots of noise when we take on the MetroStars next weekend (9/14)! The Playoffs are still within reach! Fred Matthes Director, Ticket Operations & Cust. Service D.C. United - Major League Soccer
Re: Re: Ticketing Flex plans Or with players who are no longer on the team! If you really want to save some money next year, look into the Screaming Eagle plans. This year our season tickets were $50 below United (mid field, 100 level and various degrees of rabid fandom). We also offer half plans. For more info, contact the SE ticket mistress at tickets@screaming-eagles.com K
For those on a screwy schedule (Plan a wedding and you will know what I mean), the two flex plans I purchased are a great way to see D.C. United. I can bring who I want, when I want or I can fly solo to the matches. You redeem the tix at game time, no waiting in long lines or Ticket******* charges. In the past when I swapped season tix I can't use, D.C. United turns them around fast. I'd love to go to every home game, but can't and I want to support the team and this is the best plan for me. I hope they keep it around. Bill-DC
More ticket stuff . . . Or, as K says, Buy seats in the Screaming Eagles area . . . a great deal, and great fans! . . . along with those in Barra Brava, La Norte, and The Choir! . . . a seat in a Supporter's Section is the greatest way to really get into a game ! (Thanks Kim!) Regarding the "cool" tickets . . . any suggestions?? We are at that time of the year when we begin to plan our look for next season, and I am openly looking for feedback . . . As pointed out this season numerous times, the "ticket jinx" is a big concern of mine . . . Aside from a 5 minute stint by Jaime in Game #2, and Bobby playing in the BOCA Game . . . none of the players on the tickets have actually played in the game they were pictured on (Oh, OK Eddie played for the US on May 12th, and Brian Kamler played for New England on 7/27). For next season what would you like to see on our tickets?? Traditional (i.e. Basic color and team logos) Retro (Old pics from past years) Artsy (something creative) Action (Action shots, just not player specific) Tribute to D.C. (Landmarks, etc.) Honor past championships (Trophy shots, rings, etc.) Other (Your choice?) As a disclaimer . . . No promises that any of your ideas will actually be used, and if they are cannot be copyrighted. Just a friendly brainstorming session among fans . . . Have at it, and thanks for any input! - Fred Matthes
I think retro action shots without player names would be cool for tickets! For LA, maybe a picture of the scoreboard from either 1996 or 1999 MLS cup... Perhaps with a trivia shot on one of the tickets of Thor Lee or Berthie Suarez...? Something to make the fans say, who's that?
I like the idea of past championship pictures...especially on tickets against LA or Chicago or Colorado...celebrating the respective MLS Cup finals in which we beat them.
Well we are darn close to one trophy per ticket, aren't we? Especially if you include the Conference Champions/runner-up platters. Or you could put all the obscure former players that we like to joke about.
The trophies would be cool, especially if you have the more obscure ones too, and of course the Metros game would have the Atlantic Cup . Or how about a picture from a memorable triumph vs. the opponent. (eg LA game would have a Picture of MLS Cup I or IV, Metros game 3 of 1996 playoffs and Sept 14th this year when we step over them to the playoffs, Crew could have the 4-0 drubbing at RFK in game 3 from 1999) Maybe you could even put a small caption like "MLS Cup I: DC 3 LA 2" at the bottom of the pic.
I'm a little scared with artsy (if we end up with the players looking like the US Men guys in the NY Times magazine we'll be the laughing stock of the league!) Past trophies are cool if they can correspond with the opponent that day or action shots. I liked the tickets we had last year (the photo and paper quality). I'm sure they were more expensive to make and that's why we have different ones this year. Do people save their tickets (I sadly have a stack saved including a VERY brittle MLS Cup '96) K
I would have to with team history, trophy, pic from game or post game, important events in team history with some note to explain the pic. I think the note would be cool and important for those who have just started following DC and may not know that much about the history of the team.
Yeah, but we should maybe come up with something else for the Chicago tickets - no need to remind anyone about that particluar MLS Cup.
Also, as many have mentioned, aligning a great United moment against the team it occurred against would be fantastic. For Example; LA - Eddie Pope heading the ball home (MLS Cup 96) NY - Steve Rammel poking it past Meola (Playoffs 96) COL - Jaime Moreno's goal (MLS Cup 97) CLB - Steve Rammel scoring the league's first hat trick (96)
Some sports cards have bits of jersey/bats/gloves/sticks in them. How about if we get pieces of Noel Kenney in each of our tickets?
