I saw this on the website, and thought that i would share it with everyone. Friday Night Soccer Spectacular! It's the "Friday Night Soccer Spectacular" presented by 1050 ESPN Radio. Head over to a participating Modell's store and pick up a coupon to the MetroStars - Fire game on Friday, April 22 for only $10.50! If you can't get down to Mo's then you have to log onto ticketmaster.com and enter the promotional code "Modell's" for your discount. It's all part of Major League Soccer's 10th season celebration. Kickoff is at 8PM and is brought to you by the MetroStars, Modell's and 1050 ESPN Radio.
it doesnt say buy one get one for 10.50... but even if it is, thats a pretty good deal. i am definitely going to the game now... and i hope there is a big increase in attendance from last week. maybe the MFO will get the hint that high prices have driven almost everyone away.
I like it. They should have more promotions like this. Especially with the cheapest tickets at $26 a pop.
i dont know if anyone else saw this but in Metro newspaper (the free one handed out in subways, that has nothing to do with the team for those who might be confused) today it says that the Nets are having a fan appreciation day where anyone driving to the game tonight and exiting the turnpike at Interchange 16W an hour before the game tonight will have their tolls paid for them by the Nets for Fan Appreciation Day. The Metrostars should do something like this too.
Problem is finding a "participating" Modells to get the coupon(s). The one at Herald Square doesn't have them, and knows nothing about it.
it shouldn't be a promotion, that exactly what Metro games are worth 10 buck's is a fair price. 26$ + 10$ parking + overpriced beer+an average level of soccer no wonder we dont get a decent attendance
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh do these mother********ing bastards operate in a vacuum? Or are they so beyond mother********ing stupid... can you at least get the discount through ticketbastard (edit : yes you can, but there is a $5.50 fee per ticket that ticketbastard charges. That said, $16.00 for a seat in sec 113, row 13 is pretty frickin good. But I'd rather pay 18 to sing in shout in the ESC. If I can make it. Which has been updated from out to doubtful) Short bus! MFO rides the shoooooooooooooort bus the MFO rides the short bus the MFO rides the short bus
Metro.com has posted the Modells who are participating: http://metrostars.mlsnet.com/MLS/ne...ent_id=27278&vkey=news_met&fext=.jsp&team=met Good job, MFO.
242-02 61st AVENUE DOUGLASTON, NY 11362 (718) 428-9200, (718) 428-9202 I went there yesterday. They know NOTHING. And it's too late anyway to drum up support. No publicity at all, and I can't get any new people to go with free tickets even.... I tried.....
Definitely poorly advertised, but they do have them in Herald Square. I found them in the team apparel section, not at the main cashier area. There was a little 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and the woman had them behind the counter. Jeremy P.S. The woman seems willing to hand out as many as you want, so if someone can go over they may want to pick up a bunch and distribute in the parking lot on Friday. Just a thought.
They must have gotten them in today then. I looked all over that store yesterday, even asked the Mgr. Weird that they're not on the Metros list of participating stores either. Would have saved me a walk over to Grand Central.
