On a business trip to Europe, I'll have a chance to view my first in-person European soccer match. I have a free day in Amsterdam on April 17, but not the 18th. Match possibilities (I think home team is first) appear to be: Den Haag - Twente (7:30) Zwolle - Heerenveen (7:30) PSV - NEC (7:30) RKC - Roda (8:00) I'm inclined to go to the Zwolle-Heerenveen match, which is about 1:15 by train out of Amsterdam. PSV I see on TV fairly often, and I thought a smaller club match would be pretty interesting, not to mention I have a soft spot for Heerenveen. How do I get tickets? Reserve versus day-of-game at stadium? Anyone know how far the stadium in Zwolle is from train station and best way to get to the stadium? How much time before game should I arrive at stadium? Any other information that could help out a total novice? Thanks in advance.
1. you can buy the tickets at the stadium the stadium is never sold out. 2. you can arrive at the stadium a half hour before the match. 3. I don't know how far the stadium is from the train station i never been there in Zwolle You can also come to the oosterpark stadium in groningen on sunday 18 april at 14:30 the game groningen - az but i read you can't make it You have to see the stadium it's a old english stadium this can be till next season then the club is moving to another stadium.
Thanks WGF - I'd love to pick up one of the Sunday matches, but it just ain't going to work for me. Any other useful info from anyone else still appreciated.
den haag is mere minutes from amsterdam and if you have any questions about where to find what in amsterdam, let 'rm rip
You'll probably find the best atmosphere at the Den Haag-Twente game as both supporter groups are known fanatics. Den Haag's not that far from Amsterdam either and the Amsterdam-Den Haag train connection is better than the Amsterdam-Zwolle one. Plus there's more to see/do in Den Haag prior to and after the game (having said that, the only 3-star Michelin restaurant in Holland is in Zwolle, if you can afford it: it's called De Librije). You can catch a bus to the Zwolle stadium from the station, that's what I did last time I went. Ask at the station which one.
New plan - Feyenoord at Utrecht - Sunday morning 11:30. I assume this will sellout. Any chance of buying tix at the stadium pre-game? Thanks to all for the help. bluedaddy - I'm all set in Amsterdam, I think. My plan is to walk around various museums in a jetlag haze, then eat Indonesian Saturday night. Game on sunday, then to Brussels Sunday night.
my favorite indonesian is sukabumi, a place sonicdream showed me - its right around the corner from muntplein
You might want to hit Cafe Victoria in Woerden, mention Panic FC and you might get a free beer if you find the owner.
