Wondering if anyone out there knew whether or not the Toon allocation is sold out for the Feyenoord match.

I know the official closing date for applications has passed, but I'm curious if the team might have a few tickets left over for a few expatriates. :)

There's a steal of a deal on airfare to Amsterdam right now ($390 RT from Denver) and I'd love to go over for the game... and hop a quick KLM flight to Newcastle for a week afterwards, natch.

Wow Greenie! That IS a good price!

Just to fly to the match and back would be worth it at that fare.

For allocation, why don't you e-mail Niall or Biffa?

Got in touch with the club this morning. There are still tickets available for Toon supporters. Sent in an application via Fax, they said they'll send the ticket to my hotel in Amsterdam.

Which means that yep, I booked myself the flight and a hotel.

Even better, I wrangled it to fly back to the Toon at the end of the week so I can catch the Southampton game, and it' only raised the ticket price to the mid-$400s.

    Exxxxxcellent.

Just got confirmation from my hotel in Amsterdam that they've got my ticket from the club. The hotel manager called to let me know personally that he's going to make sure nothing happens to the ticket, as he's an Ajax supporter and would love to see Feyenoord crash out!

I am SO bloody excited. Never made a CL game before, that it involves the Mags with such a big result on the line... oh lord, the shakes are already beginning.

Trip to Amsterdam/Rotterdam & Newcastle just got scuppered because of work. Sometimes I really, really hate my job.

    Yeah, well, craaaaaaaaap!

I hope you either can get your money back or at least be able to use the ticket in the future.

Unfortunately, no. The ticket was such a ridiculous deal that there were no refunds/exhcnages short of a hospital stay or death. On the plus side (a very weak plus side), one of my clients is paying for all of my financial losses on this trip, plus an increased rate for my not going.

Still, it kills me that I can't make it. Took a long lunch break yesterday to watch Ajax-Inter (a game which I also would have been at), and it pained me to know that I woulda-shoulda been there. And that was for two teams and a result I didn't care nowt for.

To make matters worse, nobody within a few hundred miles is picking up the Setanta feed of this game. Just another day of following Soccernet, I suppose.

ps: nice thing is that I did at least manage to get the ticket to a very grateful Mag in Belgium. I hated to think there'd be an empty seat in the Toon support.
