Thursday's game on ESPN2???

Metros are listed as being televised on ESPN2 this Thursday but the USA v Nigeria Women's World Cup game is also listed as being televised at the same time on ESPN2.

Which is it?

Sorry to disappoint you, but the womens game is being showed at the primetime spot. The metros/united game is being shown on tape delay, at 1 in the morning!

OK thanks. I'm not disappointed because I'll watch both and hope they don't announce the Metro score during the women's game.

Do yourself a favor Bob. Don't look at that bottom line below the screen. Giving the scoring updates all over the sports scene. If you see MLS Scores, ignore it completly.

Duct Tape use #4936: Cover bottom of TV screen so the sports ticker doesnt show.

raise your hand if you've actually used tape (of any type, i prefer scotch) and paper (or some other suitable item) to cover up a sports ticker to avoid seeing scores to games you were going to watch later.

Guys, chill.

I stayed up to watch a Galaxy match on ESPN2 that was on tape delay (I wasn't up late FOR the Galaxy, but soccer is soccer, so I'll watch it), but apparently the broadcast of the game was pushed back to accomodate the three dozen NBA highlights/analysis shows aired during the playoffs. The ticker showed all of the scores except that of the game they were about to show.

So I wouldn't worry. Go watch some of the WWC.

Hell, I'm just happy that they're showing the game. Being up in Providence, I don't get MSG, plus I'm up at 1am anyway. So I don't mind tape delay as long as I get to see the game. I'm just worried about the temptation coming to the Metros boards.

I dont think so... in the past whenever the Metros aired on ESPN there was no MSG telecast...

Hopefully there will be a good turnout because of the inconveniance.

Theres no local coverage at all via either Metros or DC United. This game will only be on ESPN2 at 1:30 am ET on Friday morning.

Worse, the game is going to be televised on FRIDAY, not Thursday as advertised. They seem to have forgotten that Thursday becomes Friday at midnight.

Interesting--but for the overwhelming majority of us who aren't privy to the entertainment industry's idiosyncratic definition of when a new day begins, "1.30am Thursday" identifies the wrong day for the telecast of this game.
