Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. Being that this is the News & Analysis forum, any chance you could refrain from putting partisan/nationalistic supplements in the subject line of the initial posts? There are plenty of non-Americans on this site (mostly Canadians and English). BigSoccer is a lot bigger than the American soccer community now (though Americans will always have my gratitude for nurturing both this website and MLS at-large).

Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. Isn't this the MLS News & Analysis thread ? The American domestic league ? Just checking <_< ... good grief.
Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. It's actually the American and Canadian domestic league. I am not saying the articles shouldn't be US-heavy, because with the results they have been getting, there are a lot of news stories about the US (and not just American newspapers), and I have been following the US team myself, hoping they will do well. I just find the "U-S-A, U-S-A" and "Americ@ kix a$$" type supplements to the thread titles to be unnecessary and annoying. I HAVE A GREAT IDEA! Why not put these jingoistic supplements at the end of EVERY thread title!!! "Garber to consider relegation! US IS THE BEST!" "Single table possibility --- America Fukc yeah!" "Henry to play for Sounders and Red Bulls this Season STARS AND STRIPES forEVAH!" "Columbus Crewligans strike again - I am proud of my USandA Americas team of soccer"
Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. Holy crap, really? Is this seriously a big deal to you? Get over it. Fact of the matter is that Fiosfan is a USMNT fan. He doesn't do these posts because it's his job, or because he is getting paid for it. This is a service he does for us all. For that, he can put anything he wants in the title, so long as he keeps putting out great news links. Well since the MLS has taken a break, what do you expect? The USMNT has a few MLS players, so it's not completely off topic and, until Saturday it's basically all we'll get.

Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. Jingoistic? Really? I'm not sure what your idea of jingoism is, but it is typically defined as extreme chauvinism or nationalism marked especially by a belligerent foreign policy. Its not often in the World Cup we Americans can be proud of our team. Don't get your undies in a bunch over a thread title made by a guy who's just pumped for his national side.
Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for the US team and US fans (hey, what's good for CONCACAF is good for Canada, so I am totally behind Mexico and USA), and the first 2 or 3 times I saw the little "rah-rah" lines, I made no comment. But after several straight days, it gets a little tiresome. I understand it is his thread, and so fine, he will name it what he will, but just as he is free to type whatever he wants, I am perfectly free to give a non-American perspective on this board so he can know that non-Americans might find it a little much. And with that input, he can now make a better-informed opinion, which can only make the world a better place. *cricket, cricket* My thoughts exactly.

Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. meh. wednesday was a historic day for america. first time since what 1930, that we won the group. chill out. besides, the nats doing so well, is GREAT for mls considering how many players got their starts in this league. you may want to stay off the site if we advance to the semi's and face brazil (which is very possable if you look at the brackets) if you hate people expressing their gratitude of the nats.
Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. Uh, I was talking about the Whitecaps guy crying about it. I know, maybe if the Canadian National Team qualified we could send shout outs to them too .... but they didn't. We're on a forum dealing with the American domestic league. Yes, there are two Canadian teams (technically) but it is the American domestic soccer league. It is NOT the Canadian and American league. Here, is the Canadian league: http://canadiansoccerleague.ca/ What, MLB is the Canadian and American league because Toronto is in it ? Or the NBA because of the Raptors ? No. Being sensitive to others on the board is one thing, but coming into the American domestic league boards and telling someone they shouldn't be posting quips about the American National Team is just dumb. If he were posting this MLS news on a Canadian board that'd be different. But he isn't. This is under the USA tab, in the US' league news thread.
Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. except that it isn't. having a canadian team in an american league does not make it an american and canadian domestic league. same with MLB.
Re: Thursday, June 24 , 2010 Proud To Be An American. Yes it is. It is the CSA designated Division One. USSF2 is the designated CSA Division Two. Deal with it.
