I have always hated exhibition games during our regular season, but Meola pointed out something to me in this quote that has changed my mind. If these high profile players come to MLS cities, they may fall in love with hem and want to play here in more numbers. I would venture to say this is a no brainer but I honestly had never thought of this before.

Then I want double the teams in Seattle. Instead of Chelsea playing the Sounders I want them playing another top team from Europe in a friendly. More chances a player falls in love and I don't have to worry about one of our players getting injured mid-season for a game that doesn't mean anything.

If they only played each other, they wouldn't get to interact with the MLS teams and their players to see how the teams are run and what the quality level is. And they wouldn't get to see the fan support for themselves.

They can see fan support on TV.
