You know it's coming. There's not even a second choice.......maybe Sigi, but that's a distant, distant second. Of course, if they decide to have a "Bonehead Coaching Move of the Year" award, it'll be called the Klinsmann*. *NOTE: I just added that so JasonMa will post his 'dead horse' image.
I don't know what the crux of the debate is, but I would say this: those players certainly outperformed Jozy in that context over that time period, but I don't know how well you could extrapolate that. They both do what's prized in English football: they put themselves about, they chase lost causes, they get stuck in, and they take shots, including from distance.
Why so much hate for the LA Galaxy. Before Canada clubs, before Casadia, the Galaxy were the club that kept the MLS somewhat relevant. The Galaxy aren't fraid to spend the money to get things done. Home Depot Center was the 2nd SSS and first 100+ million stadium for the league in 2003!!! Galaxy were 2nd club with a jersey sponsor and first club with multi-million dollar jersey sponsor. (RSL's was for 500k a year) Galaxy were the first club to have 3 DP's. Galaxy were the first club to form a USL club in Galaxy II. Galaxy have multi mullion local t.v. deal. Galaxy only MLS club with over million facebook followers. My point is the reason the Galaxy win is because the club WAS and still arguably IS the flagship of MLS. I'm glad Seattle and others are following suit, but the Galaxy always seem to be first by a year or two in progressing the league and soccer in America.
It is accepted it is more difficult but other forwards manage it better. The minimum that is required is that you take a decent percentage of the chances that come your way, unfortunately he failed to do that. It doesn't mean he isn't good enough but he does appear to be a confidence player so his form suffers if he is not scoring. Here is another fact kids. Even lower EPL teams have strikers!
Well as a striker he is expected to score as well even if not prolifically in a struggling team. I don't think he scored a league goal for them did he? Those other players at least chipped in with goals as well. I think the article had it about right. Judgement is out on whether he has enough ability for th highest level but his failure at top level may well be as much about confidence as anything. Another year in the dutch league and a better club and it could of been a different story. Of course there are other factors as well such as happiness in his personal life. Sunderland IS NOT a glamorous place. It is chilly and grey mostly (even in summer) and not particularly cultured. He will be banging the goals in for TFC @Fiosfan, don't worry.
Kind of answering your own question there. (And don't forget Cascadian clubs aren't the most liked clubs, so using them in a sentence for why LA shouldn't be hated isn't the best strategy.)
Uh...I think you just explained why. Same reasons people hate Manchester United and the Yankees, etc. You should want other fans to hate your team, it means they're good. Nobody bothers to hate irrelevant teams. Edit: Dang you beat me to it 78.
Marcelo Sarvas rumored to be traded to Colorado. I'm told that @LAGalaxy midfielder Marcelo Sarvas has been traded to @ColoradoRapids for allocation money and allocation ranking.— Alexi Lalas (@AlexiLalas) January 15, 2015
They (the Revs) are the LAG's version of the "Washington Generals" (thats a Harlem Globetrotter reference for those aren't aware or too young)
I think that part of it was they wanted to tap dance on Klinsmann as quickly as possible. But for the timing, I have no problem with this.
Toronto Plan to Unveil Altidore on Friday ESPN FC Sadly, this is the only way ESPN puts soccer on it's front page. ESPN

Let's be clear, none of the three of them are finishers. They all fluff most of what they get (though it should be said for all of them that what they get is not high-quality, as the service from Sunderland's midfield is awful). Fletcher and Wickham have a better work rate than Jozy (not too surprising, lugging that hefty frame up the pitch) and bag a few, but it's not like they threatened double-digits last season; they didn't even get there combined. They don't combine well with Jozy, but then, they don't combine well with each other either, they don't combine well full stop. If any of the three of them signed in MLS, it would be said that it was because they'd failed in The Premier League. (The capital T was a typo, but I decided to leave it.) But the reason I made the point about extrapolation is that the expected results from a move to <your club's name here> is what matters here, the rest is just status-seeking, and whatever status TFC is looking for from this move, Jozy's getting from his National Team play anyway.
Yeah, and everyone hated the Clippers when they sucked and the Lakers ruled. That didn't make everyone Lakers fans.
