Apparently the real and historical problem with TFC is that they are forced to play a majority of their competitive games against US-based MLS competition. (Having said that, I would actually be interested in seeing TFC's points-per-game averages, in competitive settings, through the years against teams from various countries.)
Very disappointed that Fox Soccer did not do more to try and maintain the rights to the final of the US Open Cup. Many people criticized FSC commentators and game coverage, but FSC makes GolTV look like amateur hour by comparison. Oh well, at least the final will still be televised..
I'd read on Twitter that FSC wanted to retain the Open final, but that US Soccer had "outrageous demands"
I'd love to hear what these demands were, that FSC couldn't meet but GolTV could. My guess is that they're at least somewhat less than "outrageous."
From what we know on the outside... it seems deserved. I haven't heard anyone really post much positive about him or his work professionally.
