tribalfootball.com has an article suggesting (make that 'stating') that the arse is in for lilian thuram. it is actually saying that madrid has the inside track; but it sounds as though it's really down to those two clubs. apparently madrid is saying they'll play him in the center, whereas the arse is saying he'd be used on the right - and the column implies that this is where madrid's advantage lies. not difficult to envision other advantages for the highest-profile club in the world; but, then, the whole 'french club' thing could surely work in your favor. anybody heard anything about this? i'm not keen on rumor-mongering, and i don't mean to stir stuff up at your board, but thuram is top-shelf. just curious as to whether anyone knows if there's any more to this.
Oddly, I've seen this from a couple of different sources. Soccer Age, the most meaningless of them to me, says that the deal is "pending negotiation", while others say only that it's possible. I highly doubt Wenger will sign a 32 year old right back when their own right back just made the Premiership starting 11. He's certainly not taking Kolo Toure's place. But I've seen stupider things.
