I was an AR on a G U14 game, I flagged for a foot off of the ground on a throw. The foot came up right after she released the ball. The center said it was not an infringement, because it was after she threw the ball in. I thought if the foot comes up at all, it was an infringement. Am I just having a brain fart? Could someone clarify this for me? Thanks

    Brain Fart!

The throw is complete once it leaves the hands and breaks the plane. I don’t care what they do once the ball is in play.

Additionally, at a clinic a few years ago being conducted by a FIFA AR, he questioned us about the purpose of a throw-in…..putting the ball back into play. His point was that if you feel the legality of the throw is trifling, we’re playing. So on an oh so slight foot lift, I’m letting them play. If they do a “Rockette” lift, I’m calling that.

Alright, thanks. After that happened I was leaning to that answer as well.
