Philippe Senderos has signed a contract with Arsenal since the winter break. http://www.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=150911&cpid=8&title=Wenger+meetings+swayed+Senderos

Two more Swiss players could be playing there soon.

Arnaud Bühler (18) last thursday met with Gérard Houllier, Liverpool's trainer. It is anticipated that he will be soon signing a contract with Liverpool shortly. The contract is rumored to be for five years. «They count on me starting the 1st of July 2004. Until then, I will be loaned to a club of the «Super League» in Switzerland (Aarau?)», explained Buhler. He last played with Lausanne-Sport and there is no contract with them that remains.

Loïc Favre (20) has a trial with an unnamed third Division English club. He has a trial there from 30 June to 4 July. If the trial does not pan out, he will play with AC Bellinzone.

    An update on Buhler:
In August wil sign a contract with Liverpool. The contract is expected to have him stay at Aarau until July 2004 then go to Liverpool. It seems similar to the one that Senderos signed with Arsenal.

Speaking of Senderos, there is an update on him as well. It seems he's really getting a chance to play for the 1st team next season. He played for Arsenal in 2 test games, once with Pascal Cygan in central defence, and once with Martin Keown

While we're on updates, there is on from Ricardo Cabanas as well. Ricci scored the equalizer for Guingamp in their Intertoto Cup tie against Brno (2-1 victory for Guingamp). That's what Brno gets for beating Thun :D

It appears that Favre did not catch on with the rumored English team, he scored in the opener for AC Bellizona.

    More on Senderos:
Arsenal tied Ritzing with Philippe Senderos the second half at right back. This is the third straight game he has played the second half. The first two were at central defense, this time on the outside.

Senderos started again for Arsenal in the 1st half of a friendly against Austria Wien (2-0 victory for Arsenal). There are rumors in the English press that he might also start for Arsenal in the Charity Shield against ManU.

Wow, Senderos sure has made an impact @ Arsenal.

If Senderos makes a immediate impct on the first team of Arsenal, I imagine that the interest currently given Swiss youth will only increase.
