Well, congratulations to all 3, especially Cole; I wonder what the odds were at the start of this season that Carlton Cole would be called up into the England squad in February!!!!!
I admit I was not a fan, but he's clearly improved a ton under Zola's influence. Let's hope his confidence stays high, because he's certainly figured out how to score more goals. Tomorrow would be a good day to score a couple more!

It was said in commentry on yesterdays game that West Ham have more members in the England squad than Man Utd, and both Ferdinand and Carrick for Man Utd are ex-West Ham players.

I make it eight. Green, Upson and Cole from the present squad, and James, Rio, Johnson, Carrick and Lampard as former players. One omission I find a bit odd is Parker, as he has been incredible of late and is performing as well if not better than some in the squad. Joe Cole would have been in without question.

Dyer when fit would probably be close to an England call-up and probably Ashton too!

Weel done to the Hammers and the players who have been called up.

I just loved the comment attributed to Rob Green today on sport.co.uk where he is talikng about Carlton Cole and his call up to the England squad.

""I'm pleased for Carlton and I think the penny has finally dropped for him," said Green.

"Things are started to fall into place for him and this could now be a little teaser to the rest of his potential.

"It will be another step up and the standards will be higher. It will be interesting for him and I'm sure he'll do great, even though it will be a massive learning curve for him as it is for everyone.

"But it won't faze him at all. One of his great attributes is that he doesn't think too much and so I think he'll be ok."

Is this a compliment or what??:D

Feel a bit sorry for Parker not making the squad. His form is great although he's obviously behind the likes of Lampard and Carrick.

From a selfish point of view I am glad when our better players do not get international caps. We need them fit for our club. No doubt Parker deserves a call up but look what happened to Ashton. His career has never been the same since that broken ankle.
