I am a HUGE Kerry Zavagnin fan and I think this article was great. Finally Kerry is getting the attention he deserves!! He is so talented and humble. He deserves everything good that comes to him. I wish him luck with the national team and with the Wizards!

    I'll take Freddy

Freddy plays on DC with Brandon Prideaux who played on the Wizards with Kerry Zavagnin.

Greg Lalas is a horrible writer. It looks like he took a phone call halfway through writing the piece, went out for groceries, then cut and pasted some other ramblings to what he had started.

Good to see KZ get some props.

Played on the US-Olympic team in their tour of Portugal a year or two ago. Also on that team was Burciaga, who plays with KZ on the Whiz.

    OR

Played with Shavar Thomas in Dallas. Who now plays with KZ on the Whiz.

Was Double Duce, Triple E a teammate of Preki's back in the day?

Not so far as I know.

I haven't actually worked out Juli Veee yet, but I have a thought:

    Juli Veee
    (SD Sockers circa 1985)
    Hugo Perez
    (USNT circa 1989)
    Tony Meola
    (MS '97/KCW '00-)
    Kerry Zavagnin

You'd think that'd be hard to beat.

    On Juli Vee:

surely there was at least one San Diego player that stayed with the team long enough following the Juli Vee era to have still been there when Former Wizard's Head Coach Ron Newman coached the team in '88 (he may have been there even earlier, but that year he won coach of the year). -I don't remember the official rules of this game, but I think going through coaches is allowed.

AFAIK, Ron Newman coached the Sockers for many years prior to 88, so....

Juli Veee - played for San Diego Sockers under...
Ron Newman - coached Kansas City Wizards with...
Preki - played on Kansas City Wizards with...

    KERRY ZAVAGNIN!

Dam- I checked the rules and coaches don't count.

    So, Juli Veee:
-Some guy who played on the Sockers until '86
-Paul Dougherty (played in SD in '86-87 -and now does again today)
-Meola (played with Dougherty on the '98 MetroStars).

-Bo Oshoniyi (played with Ferruzzi on the '98 Charleston Battery)
