It was appropriate given the ridiculous historical analogies used by the post that I replied to. I refuse to take "you can't compare this to what happened in a time of war because such things are sacred" as a load of horsecrap anyway because we've been in a near constant state of war for the last 70 years. Done with this thread.
I never said anything about things being sacred. I would probably be the last person on earth to ever make that argument. I was pointing out that the extreme nature of your analogy was desperate and no where neear comparable to this situation. bue nice try i guess
I wish TeamOps was working when craig bellamy returned to Upton Park with Man City and literally every person I could see in the stadium was chanting "F*ck off Craig Bellamy, F*ck off Craig Bellamy" and "You're just a short greedy ba$tard". Some of the best chanting i've ever heard. as a few others mentioned in this thread, i'm more more disturbed by racist or homophobic language than undirected "foul" language. the fact that the majority of other people don't seem to feel this way saddens me. i dont think its too important what specifically is done as a protest. what's more important is that as many people as possible do it/contribute/participate.
This is dreadfully off-topic, but... Yeah, and the team was owned by an ownership group (Atlanta Spirit) that also owns the Atlanta Hawks, and has trouble selling tickets to that team... which plays in the most popular sports league among African-Americans... in the middle of a city which is 54% African-American and is one of the hubs of African-American culture. Forget selling the NHL in Atlanta, Atlanta Spirit would have trouble selling space heaters in Alaska. And all Boston sports fans are Tawmmy from Quinzee. (Stereotypes save time!) Too many professional members of the media these days are nothing more than glorified stenographers for those people whom they cover, all in the name of maintaining "access."
I have had an amazing revelation - this forum is much more enjoyable with Kraft Out on the ignore list. Please help enhance my enjoyment by *not* quoting his posts. Thank you, -nsa
So petty and awful. The whole ignore list thing is so immature, it's like being a child and putting your fingers in your ears while saying "LALALALALA." Dude has his opinions, deal with it.
More talk? More talk? We don' nee no steenkin' talk! It's time for action!! IT'S TIME FOR A REVOLUTION!!!
I'm surprised the FCC hasn't gotten involved yet. From the FCC: "The FCC has defined profanity as “including language so grossly offensive to members of the public who actually hear it as to amount to a nuisance." "Like indecency, profane speech is prohibited on broadcast radio and television between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m."
would a new chant to replace YSA be what is called for? might i suggest You Suck KraftSports! no profanity, they can hardly crack down on that without looking like the clueless facist that they are .... sounds like a winner to me, or maybe You Suck TeamOps! either way, don't back down ... your team ownership is a blight on MLS and an affront to the dedicated fans of the Revs who have suffered thru decades of neglect by the Krafts ... you need your on LUHG campaign ... L(ove) R(evs) H(ate) K(rafts)!
