A lot depends on who the opponent is and the nature of the match. It could be a qualifier. Nations league play - off or friendly. A match against San Marino is different prospect to a Nations League play off that if lost would constitute the worse possible start.
I think we should move past the stage of debating whether or not the England manager should be foreign. We've exhausted the topic and the appointment is done now, it's not going to change for the foreseeable.

Hope he stays On regardless of the world cup. We need stability. Not changing manager every two years
I think he might stay on if it’s good performance but short of a win. But probably less likely it’s an early edit or it’s a very negative camp.

Incoming England boss Thomas Tuchel has been given permission to split his time between London and Munich when he takes over as Three Lions boss in January. (Sun) Sounds like he won’t be as involved with the lower levels as Southgate was.
It is being spun as allowing him time with his kids who he shares with his ex wife but I just a get a feeling it’s all going to go badly wrong.
Southgate wasn’t particularly involved in the lower levels anyway. He didn’t embed a style. He didn’t even seem fussed about Boothroyd being around forever and constantly screwing up. Most of the positive things he did came from the top down. Simply by being successful in his senior role.
