Before the game, the TV station praised Thomas for his merits in the recent positive streak. Unfortunately the game today was with just one Thomas highlight: quick turbo start, dribbling, but fouled before he could enter the box

A pre-game article for the Burghausen game (couldn't find it online) focused on Thomas. The article said that Thomas improved tacticaly in the last 4 months and coach Uwe Reinders says that "if Jacob works for the team he is a very important player for us". Thomas is now one of his favoured 15 players. Thomas himself said he can't enjoy the good critiques in the last weeks because the team is still on the 18th place. Finaly his father-in-law, Franz Merkhoffer (who played more than 440 games in the Bundesliga for Eintracht) says that Thomas is a sensitive player, that he now plays the position where he plays the best and that he talks often about soccer with him and tries to help him.
