http://www.kcwizards.com/news/interiornewspage.asp?story_id=IZQ7TB4WCEI7RB6IAC2PARX84W OK all you crusaders, or anyone that happens to be part of a church. Get to the youth groups in your communities and push this thing. It should be a pretty easy sell. The all time attendence record was set at this thing last year. Don't forget to push the $3 dollars extra feild pass.
From what I understand from an ex-girlfriend heavy into christian rock, this is a very popular band (perhaps moreso than MWS with the Wizards' target demographic age)
why dont they get a really popular mainstream band to play...or a punk band...how bout the ataris...or sugarcult....yea right
I'm not into christian rock at all, but I've heard of these guys, and actually heard that they're pretty good.
Look at it this way. Either get a cheap band that can be easily sold to on group sales that won't drive of the soccer mom crowd, or get an expensive group that can boost single ticket sales that might drive off the soccer mom crowd, even if only for one night. In my opinion it really isn't a question.
Yeah, they're pretty good. very attractive female lead singer, too. If you guys stick around, you'll like it much more than MWS. They have a very mainstream sound, but it's a unique sound. Here's their website: http://www.caedmonscall.com/
I told my son about the concert. He knew of the band and he's bouncing off the wall. I suspect we'll be there.
The ataris suck ass. I used to see them three or four times a year at this little dive bar in columbia, when they'd open up for some other obscure, unpopular punk band. They were the worst kind of emo, or I should say, they are now that they've gotten thier MTV makeover.
I have to give props to the Wiz for this. A great idea. If done the right way, then can get a lot of teenagers at the game orginized by church youth groups. If I lived within driving range of KC I would bring my group (Im a chuch youth worker). Caedmons Call is a big name group in Christian Rock (but not in the group of bands with the biggest draw) And like almost all Christian Rock, CC sounds very mainstream and if you just head them without knowing they are a Christian group you would like them.
I heard from someone that there will also be a country concert later in the season. It's supposed to be Teri Clark who is pretty famous.
Caedmons Call is a good band. You should stick around after the concert and check them out. It will be worth your time.
