This weather sucks..... so far I've had 3 out of four spring season games in our rec league canceled on a count of rain. The one game we did play, it started raining after the county sent a a notice saying the fields were open, every one figured fields were closed at that point. I showed up at the fields and the game was still on. Most of my team showed up, but the other team only had three players show- so we din't even get to pay that game. The best thing about this- our team has only played one game but I need to collect fees for the summer season. Don't think I'm coming out of that team meeting alive. I just want to know, what did I do to derserve this? Are the soccer gods mad at me? Anyone else basically having their spring season rained out?
I live in Maryland, so I am having th same crappy weather as you right now, I am playing on 7 teams and coaching 1 at the moment and I am running one of the outdoor squads I play for so I know what you mean about collecting money and all that for games and that never seem to happen. I also am still making up indoor games that got delayed because of the winter from hell so its just turning in to a pile of games getting squashed in to the week when there are free hours at the indoor arenas on top of the regular games that are going on at the regular times, I played 14 games in 9 days last month it was freaking nuts.
Well as one of those DC guys who just had their first game in 4 weeks last night, I guess it could be worse. No snow so far this summer!!
Here in Columbus, 3 straight Saturday mornings where we have had rain. No games rained out yet, but we have not had a nice sunny morning in quite some time.
You're very lucky that at least they haven't canceled your games. We just got to play our 2nd game this week and our season started back on April 12!
