This team is desperate for a shooter

    Sorry if this has been hashed out already but IMO the USMNT needs a shooter badly. I'm talking about someone who can let it rip. I would be great for set pieces but it would also be dangerous in normal play. I cringed at Mcbrides penalty yesterday. I could have save that one. You've got to blast that thing. There isn't another country I can think of that doesn't have a true sniper.

    Agreed, we need a pure scorer/shooter. But the list of countries without one is long. Those who score are the game's rarest commodities, hence the huge price tags.
    When he's on top of his game, Mathis fills that hole for us, set pieces etc, though I'm not too sure about PKs.

    Did you cringe when Joe-Max Moore shot a PK to Dida in Confed Cup 99 against Brazil? I did for both.

    Mathis, for Metro, was pretty decent at PKs. He lets it rip.
