Lothar is a quitter. I guess this is some shocking revelation in Germany. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=265917&cc=5901 I figured you all would like the link.
A quitter for not refusing to leave the pitch when your coach substitutes you out? This was a coach''s decision that didn't pan out. I believe Lothar had some sort of physical problem, or was out of gas. I remember watching the game and at the time it seemed like a smart substitution. Reminds me of the WWC final in 2001, when Michelle Akers went out after regulation and China almost scored in the ot. Can't call Akers a quitter.
I didn't really feel that way about him- mostly because I didn't know too much about him- until I read the following: 1. He wrote a book called "I showed them all" Anyone who writes a book with that as a title deserves to get hit in the head by an oil tanker or something. 2. And, while he gets bonus points for the following: He looses those points and then some for the following: Nice going, 'tard. Clearly, this is all because he is still bitter over his loss to Metro in 2001.
"His book, .... carries erotic photographs of his partner Claudia Strunz. She is the wife of former Bayern player Thomas Strunz, who found out about the affair when he noticed a text message from Effenberg on her mobile phone. " This is too funny! What a nice guy. Instead of pointing the blame for Bayern's loss to ManUtd in 1999, he should look who was actually on the field when they scored the two late goals. Lothar wasnt, Effenberg was. 'Nuff said.
I wasn't meaning to imply that I completely agree with anythin in the article. Just that it was entertaining reading for those who are Lothar fans here in Metros land. Effenberg is no angel, obviously.
Since when are you a Bayern Munich fan? I'm shocked. My point still stands though. Bayern thinks the rules don't apply to them. The mighty Bayern Munich shouldn't have to ask anyone's permission to sign secret marketing contracts, right? Or pay Sebastian Deisler while he's still under contract to Hertha BSC? Or how about you let the league's top 4 teams qualify for the Champions' League or we'll break off and form our own league with 13 other arrogant, greedy clubs. As if I'm the only one who thinks Bayern Munich gets special treatment.
? Were you a Bremen fan before, then? Bayern always wins the Championship. Nothing special about this year.
