    Forethought of the Day:

Expect ManU to spend BIG in January, especially if they make it through December, and are still only 4 pts (+/-) out of the CL spots...they will give Amorim every opportunity...

Whether he can do anything with the lot they have, plus a few BIG signings in December...

they are in a real bind though. one that is 100% of their own making.

they can't buy big without breaking PSR rules (which tbf they do try to respect) unless they dump a lot of existing players.
    but ...
they have paid ridiculous fees for almost all of their squad so will take a bath and make their PSR worse.
    plus ...
they pay ludicrous wages, which other clubs would laugh at, so MU would need to subsidise salaries for years
and that assumes the players on those crazy wages would even agree to move. we've seen a number of big MU names dig in their heels on that.

Who would they realistically be looking to shift? Antony for sure and they'll take a big loss on him. I'd also be inclined to move Rashford on and while he's on massive wages, he's home grown, so just getting him off the books opens up options for them. I'd also move Bruno on as I think his mentality is an overall detriment to the team, but doubt that would happen soon. Bring Sancho back and add a winger and their forward line would be decent.

If he's going to play back 3, then I expect they'll need to refresh their defenders. Think Maguire and Lindelof are out of contract at the end of the season. Also can't believe any team expecting to win anything would employ a 5'6" central defender even if they do play in a 3, so I'd look to move Martinez on as well.

My guess is they would give Hojlund the rest of this season to see if he shows anything worth keeping but if he doesn't they'll offload him.

Not sure who in their right mind would ever be interested in Antony, at a fraction of what they paid. And given his ego he likely thinks he deserves his huge salary.

He's been getting plenty of plaudits from pubdits and from what I've seen and has been hyped as one of the best LBs in the league. He's a lot better equipped to play for Liverpool than Ricardo Pepi.

I think he's very impressive - only negative is he's probably 2-3 years older than ideal for us.

that said I wouldn't complain if we signed him, although he might look at Robbo and Tsimi and see few minutes available for him right now.

Given the amount of noise, one has to wonder if there might be some truth to this Chiesa nonsense. One hopes it is just noise, as it makes no sense. But you still have to wonder where all this is coming from - definitely not from Liverpool. If Chiesa, or his agent, are peddling this nonsense, it might be best to move him on.

Aquilani, Dossena, Borini, Balotelli, Chiesa, not a lot of luck with importing the Italians to date.
