Liverpool are interested in Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl, 22, who has represented Germany at under-21 level.
He spends the whole game throwing himself on the floor. Thanks for taking points off City, but it would have taking some effort learning to like him if we had signed him.
Would have been impossible for me. Can’t stand that dude and we have 4 better players in his position.
Oh I get that and I was especially not fond of him when he played for Everton but a coach can stamp that behaviour out quickly if he chooses to. The thing is Liverpool were interested in Gordon when he had one year left on his contract so I'd assume we'd be there again if he was available for free. However , I always believed Newcastle would make it very worth his while to stay and looks like they have. A more pressing concern for us is a very similar situation with Trent seeming to be heading to RM unless we can get him to ink a new deal with us. Hopefully he will but ...............
According to reports in Spain, Liverpool chiefs are now racing to trigger Kevin Zenon's release clause ahead of the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United, with the clause thought to be relatively low. The Boca Juniors star, who primarily plays on the left side of midfield, has entered the radar of several top clubs in a race that is only likely to heat up as time goes by, but that should not discourage the Reds in the pursuit of his signature. Just 23 years old, Zenon is far from the finished product and is instead the type of player who would be signed based on the potential player that he could become. Given that Liverpool are already blessed with world-class options down their left-hand side, it is the kind of development that they could accommodate at Anfield.
Liverpool are one of several Premier League clubs monitoring the situation of Sevilla's Spanish winger Juanlu Sanchez, 21.
aaannndddd ..... here we go again! Real Madrid are open to offers for France midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, 24, with Liverpool the club most interested in sealing a £66m deal for next summer.
Liverpool have identified Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi as a potential successor to Salah, and are ready to make a £41m bid for the 22-year-old German.
Difficult to overestimate the effects of the new transfer case (Bosman II) decision today, but it’s going to be seismic. Everyone still waiting to see how it’s going to play out (it took Bosman I 2 years from decision to actual effect), but at first glance, it could mean that Chelsea’s long term contracts have now become worthless or perhaps that they can neither cancel a contract nor sell on a player as the contract winds down.
stop this beating around the bush, Arne - what do you think? Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk's contracts: "It's the same boring answer as always, I could really understand it if you asked me once every two weeks but if you ask me this after two, three days again, you still get the same answer."
Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli want to sign Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 32, and his 33-year-old Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk when their contracts with the Reds run out at the end of the season.
@JamesPearceLFC Jarell Quansah set to sign a new long-term contract as Liverpool open preliminary discussions with Ibrahima Konate over an extension.
Real Madrid had planned to sign England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, 25, on a free transfer next summer when his contract with Liverpool expires, but might move for him in January after Spain defender Dani Carvajal, 32, sustained a serious knee injury. (Sport - in Spanish)
Liverpool have joined Newcastle and Tottenham in the race to sign 26-year-old attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
Liverpool are interested in Eintacht Frankfurt and Egypt striker Omar Marmoush, 25. Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa wanted to sign him last summer.
West Ham will price their Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus, 24, out of a move away from the club next summer despite interest from Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.
