to rightly proclaim that we are in fact the champions of MLS....Soon, in just a matter of two days, we will sit and watch the final game for the 2002 season and pray that the fish gets hooked by the revs defense....causing him to be completely innefective through the entire game, leading to the revs win, and the FOURTH, yes folks that's right, FOURTH loss for the Galaxy in the MLS CUP final...

So today, I urge you to shout proudly "SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES, MLS CUP CHAMPIONS!" Soon, we will not be able to say this with truth anymore....

I look at it this way. We will ALWAYS be able to say:

"SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES, 2001 MLS CUP CHAMPIONS!"

That truth no one can ever take from us. And most of our guys are champions...forever!

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Come the end of MLS Cup 2002 tomorrow, the only title the San Jose Earthquakes will be losing is Reigning MLS Cup Champions. They will always be the 2001 MLS Cup Champions, and will always have won it before whichever team wins it this Sunday!

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Also, I'm sure most people agree that the San Francisco 49ers have been among the best NFL teams in the last 20 years or so - yet they've "only" won five Super Bowls in that time period. Does that mean that they've sucked most of that time? Absolutely not - as a matter of fact, since winning their first Super Bowl in the 1981 season (although Super Bowl XVI was held in January, 1982), the Niners have had only three losing seasons (the strike-shortened 1982 season, as well as the 1999 and 2000 seasons)... goes to show that winning a championship every year is tough even for the best teams.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Of course, the Clash/Earthquakes haven't had that great of a track record for most of its MLS existence, but in the two years that it's had real I/O's and a coach that knows what he's doing (2001 and 2002), the team has had two winning seasons, one of them a championship-winning season. It's that relatively-recent stability throughout the organization, from the front-office to the coaches to the players, that's perhaps the biggest reason why this is the most optimistic I've ever been about this franchise's future.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp And lastly, the team's kits will change next season, but that star above the jersey's logo crest will still be there, now and forevermore. :)

I'm not watching the game--whoever wins good for them, though it will be hell when the Galaxy wins.

I still hope some freakish thing happens at Gillette which results in no winner for this year...

The bigger concern is renewing for 2003--going to be a challenge to try and secure my seats for that season...

and the Giants winning the World Series is just as good... had history repeated itself and they walked out, I'd pull the plug...

Goodsie.. Im guessing he's referring to walking out like the Giants sucking in the playoffs like our 'Quakes sucked in this years playoff, or the baseball strike that was settled.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp While the Earthquakes are no longer the reigning MLS Cup Champions, the following graphic from last year is still valid:

    Re: Please Explain

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp The Buffalo Bills went to four straight Super Bowls, only to lose four straight Super Bowls.
